There was a Pirates AWE coupon for $10 off back in December that was scanned from the SD-DVD. An almost guaranteed success is self-checkout Wal-Mart or other stores because the barcode scans and $10 is automatically deducted. Best Buy accepted my printout, but the cashier instructions will need to be readable.

Well, it looks like the idea is to get people who just bought the DVD to buy the BD soon afterwards. They figure a lot of people aren't going to bother, since they would have to buy it less than two months later (most people who wanted the BD in the first place would just buy that instead). Those that do buy both give them two sales of the title, so it's worth the $10 hit.

I have some RZ certs to use so I'm going to try to do a PM at Best Buy with a walmart.com print out. They have it priced for $23.87 right now. Then I will hand the cashier the $10 coupon. This is exactly what I did for the Pirates 3: AWE deal. This will be cheaper than trying to double dip with the $5 off coupon. But anyone brave enough can go for the ultimate savings if they try and combine all three.

It may be a YMMV thing. I've used printouts before, but I've also been shot down by managers saying they don't take "internet coupons". I'd recommend using the self-checkouts if possible, but they always seem to be broke around here.

As a side note, when she scanned the movie and it came up with the "Verify customer is 17" she first asked me if I am 17 (I'm 29 and clearly older than 17) and then said "make sure you don't let anyone under 17 watch the movie for any reason." Umm...ok.

The Wal-Mart closest to where I work keeps almost all of their dvds and Blu-Rays locked up and forces you to pay for them in electronics. Many people don't bother using coupons on dvd there much less even pay for them for that matter. Fortunately I had no problems using the coupon but they did charge tax on the overall price and then reduced 10 bucks from that amount. It came out about 85 cents more than it should have but it wasn't worth the hassle arguing with them about it.

Just open it and watch it. If you're able to snag another copy with the ten dollar off coupon later in the week just return it with the original receipt and get your money back. Since Wal-Mart doesn't pricematch on previous purchases this is your only alternative.

I'm very ticked off. I've done this numerous times before and today I got rejected! I went to the front register and handed the lady the printed b&w coupon. She immediately asked a supervisor and she said to call the electronics manger. I thought " here we go" Surprisingly, the manager approved it if it would scan. For some reason it didn't. So she said sorry. Not sure why they couldn't do a manual override etc. I may try again. But it was a bummer.
I went to target and best buy but I had a feeling I'd have the same trouble there. It also wasn't thrilling to see those stores selling the BD for $30.
I was also looking forward to getting Independence Day on BD. For some reason Fox likes to charge $30 for all the new releases. It's a rip off for a 10+ year old movie. Maybe I'll get it in a bogo.

I tried one walmart, wouldn't scan and was told they don't take printed coupons. I used one previously at the same store, which it scanned at but not this one. So, I went to another, it was priced at 29.96, so I went to another, almost got into a fight with a guy because he said I cut in front of him at the self checkout (there were four checkouts and he was standing at one of the back ones, I went to the front one.) Was quite funny but really stupid considering the type of Walmart I was at and me being the only person of white shade.
Anyway, coupon would scan, cashier manager was right there and manually entered 10.00 off. $16.46 out the door, and thankfully not beat up.
