$7.99 for 5-Disc "A Salute to Hee Haw" (MSRP $69.98)

A 5-Disc set of corny humor and yesteryear's country music stars for only $7.99 at Best Buy (plus tax and $1.99 for shipping)!

Pretty good deal if you'd like to take a step back in time. And, according to DVDPriceSearch.com, the next cheapest price is $34.13 (with shipping) from WalMart.

The $7.99 price is only available through Best Buy's website. No in-store pickup allowed.

I ordered mine yesterday and got a shipping confirmation today.

Please don't order 1,000,000 copies and have dreams of building your dream home from Hee Haw sets.

LOL!!! Too bad some people have to ruin good deals for others.

As the "original poster" of this thread, the reply above is exactly why I didn't post this deal until I was sure my own order had shipped.

All it takes is one person to ruin something like this by ordering a butt-load of copies.

Logic tells me that other members probably hold back on "quickly" announcing deals as well. That way they increase the odds of actually getting in on the deal they, themselves, discovered. Thus, the the best deals are not posted ASAP.

In addition, I wouldn't be surprised if Best Buy has some sort of "stop-loss" software that alerts them when someone purchases a large number of a single title. Since this may have been a misprice, Best Buy would be smart to cancel all the remaining orders that have not yet shipped.

Now, I'm not saying that Best Buy is smart, but if I thought of it I'm sure they have too!

Good luck to all of you who simply purchased a single set!

Obviously the folks at Best Buy can't be too bright if it took them a whole week to catch the pricing error on Blade: The Complete Series.
Anyway, thanks for posting this deal. I managed to order one before they were on backorder, so hopefully it will actually go through okay.

It's now "backordered". From previous experience, this likely means BB has caught the error & if yours hasn't already shipped it likely won't. I ran into this last year with the $10 Sly & The Family Stone box sets.

I was actually hoping for more episodes. Only 5 or 6 in this set. You'd think they could fit more on a 5-disc set.

Yes, I have to agree with you there. I was hoping just to get one copy for my dad, he loves that goofy (redneck, if you will) humor. I can definitely see someone who discovers a deal not wanting to post it until they've made sure their order has shipped, because of hoarders, eBayers, and the like buying several copies and basically screwing the rest of us who actually want the item to keep. The greedy ones ruin it for the rest of us.

I'm kinda surprised there are only five episodes on it. But I forget how long the original program was.
Yeah, if I find a deal (which admittedly is not often, I always order mine first then share.
I ordered 2 copies of this one, one for me and one for my dad, we used to watch Hee Haw all the time. The most I ever order of anything is 3, and that's only if I want one and I think both my dad and my brother would want one as well.

Secondspin.com shows the prices that FYE pays. There may be a 10-20% difference, depending on the store's own stock. Until the end of the month, Transworld is running a bonus 45% credit promotion.

Actually, there are 8 episodes included:
"In a five-DVD boxed set, Time Life presents a television institution, the classic country and western variety show, which first hit the airwaves in 1969 on CBS. It contains eight episodes from the show’s early years: two from ’69, four episodes from ‘70, and one apiece from ‘73 and ’74, both after the show had moved to syndication. Packed with more corny jokes than you can shake a stick at and anchored by good performances by top country artists of the day, this set is a true treat."
Here's the complete review:

Hopefully the resell price will fall as more of these sets hit the market.
