Rush in concert.

I'm interested to know if anyone else is seeing them on tour this year? I bought tickets for my wife and I and a couple of friends to see them in April in Oklahoma City.

I saw them last year. It was amazing, and the band was tight as usual. The only one who missed their cue was some guy who smoked his joint during Limelight instead of A Passage to Bangkok.

I saw the last year's leg of this tour. Probably my favorite Rush show ever, because of setlist.

I've seen them a few times in the last 10 years, but not on the last tour. I thought the tour for Feedback was a bit too "new stuff" heavy, but they always put on a great show.

Seeing them at Red Rocks this year. I've never been a big fan, but I've got free tickets.

I've seen every tour since Presto (a few times multiple shows on a tour) and I've never seen a bad show from them.

I saw them twice last year and so far I have tix for 1 (Irvine) of the 2 shows in LA. My buddy is waiting for the better seats to be released for the 2nd show at Nokia.

Some here on dvdtalk hated the show because there wasn't enough old stuff and they weren't crazy about the new CD. Personally, I think the show was awesome.

My biggest problem with the show was I hadn't heard the new CD yet. It all sounded good, but after 5 new songs in a row, I was ready for something a little more familiar.

They're advertising that they're changing the set list for the new leg of the tour. I wonder how much new stuff will survive?

I bet Spindrift does not return. Rush songs usually increase in dimension when played live, but that one fell flat compared to the album in my opinion.

Not with the crowds I saw it with.

For some reason for me finding good tickets to this tour is very VERY difficult! I got in a right away for three shows (Oklahoma City, Hershey and Philly) and I got TERRIBLE seats each time, by far the worst seats I have every had for Rush concerts and I 've been seeing them since Presto. I think a lot of the problem is scalpers but those damn ticket auctions on Ticketmaster for the first 4 rows really annoy me.

I keep on hearing people say that some good seats open up the day of the concert... well I'm going to put that theory to the test.

Don't forget the Snakes and Arrows live Album comes out in April.

It can happen. The closer to the show the better the chances because promoters, ticket agencies, and others start dumping tickets. It's not guaranteed, but there's a chance...

We didn't get the best seats but they are located in section 17 in the Ford Center in OKC. I can't believe I paid something like 25 bucks to see them in 96 in West Palm Beach Florida and paid a little over 75 bucks a ticket this time around. After 12 years of not seeign them I am looking forward to this. I bought the Rush R30 dvd set and it is great.

Except that it isn't the full show, which is stupid.

Bravado
YYZ
The Trees
By-Tor
One Little Victory
Secret Touch
Red Barchetta
La Villa Strangiato

I wonder why they would cut all of that out? Maybe we will start seeing "special editions" of rock concerts. What a bummer!

I heard an interview with Geddy where he said that they took the songs out so it would not be so much like Rush in Rio. He later said that it was a mistake and that only full versions ofl concerts would be released from now on.

The reasoning was that those songs were redundant as they were on the Rush In Rio DVD that came out shortly before that one.

However, there are quite a few songs (Tom Sawyer for example) that were on both.

I think they later admitted that they fucked up as the feedback was pretty harsh.

Each and every performance of a particular song is still unique. They should always include every song regardless if it appeared on an earlier release.

I would think any reason to go to Red Rocks would be a good one. Especially free tickets to Rush. What a spectacular place. We walked around it during the day over the summer, and could have spent the entire day in the museum itself. I'd go see Gallagher there, and that's saying a lot.

On the other hand, it was very refreshing to see that they don't consider themselves a nostalgia act. They have a great deal of confidence in their new material, and nothing about the show felt like a "farewell" tour.

If they did end up removing some of the new material, I hope they replace it with other rarities than bringing back Closer to the Heart.
