1106 - a moment in fictional time

I posted this a while back in the movie forum, but thought there might be people here who don't cross-visit and might be interested.

http://people.hofstra.edu/francis_a_rizzo/1106/

My site description:
This is like a very specific online museum, as I collect images that share a common thread, but one that only is obvious if you're told what it is. Basically, this site houses nothing but still frames taken from films and television shows at the 11:06 mark. Nothing more, nothing less. The hope is, as the image bank grows, that it becomes a unique visual presentation that finds some touches of beauty in the randomness represented by the four digits 1 1 0 6.

Check it out if you get a chance. Thanks.

Martin and Orloff and Margot at the Wedding-- this site's tops! Great idea, I love seeing someone coming up with a novel way of approaching film online

Thanks for the positive words.

Just to let you all know, I did a big update this morning, and there are now 300 images in 1106. I can't wait til I reach 1106...

Can you add a text list of the movies you already have. I'd love to start contributing to this very important cause, but don't want to double dip, and a list would make it easier to check.

It's explained in the Why? section, which Pinata242 is making reference to, I believe.

Well, I thought it would be disingenuous to say I thought it was intriguing or interesting...but I do appreciate your enthusiasm, and wish you good luck with it, amigo....

Very cool, though I have to admit that I was looking for a clock in the first couple of picks as I misunderstood the project.

I don't buy the explanation for why it's 11:06. That is exactly 666 seconds into each movie or episode. There's something more sinister going on here!

A quick update...the collection has reached 450 films. See if you can guess them from some very random frames:

Just rediscovered this site again and figured I'd bump this thread and get it some more word-of-mouth. Good job, Rizzo.
