the nines - any good?

was at blockbuster and this movie caught my eye (in fact any time the movie has a number in the title somewhere, i always have to read the back to see what its about - they always intrigue me...some turn out good, some not so good)...

anyways, has anyone seen this? the little description on the back sounded pretty cool.

I liked it a great deal...in a way. It felt like it was missing that was keeping it from being really great, but I'm not sure what. Maybe because it was quite different and confusing? I'm not sure.

It's worth watching for Ryan Reynold's performance, and everything else you enjoy about it is just extra on top. He was very solid in this one. It isn't an Oscar worthy performance or anything, but there are moments when he shows flashes of what could one day become greatness.

It's a spiritual film, so if you aren't into things like that then you will likely miss part of what makes this one a great watch. If you're into things like that, and films that are all over the place, but on purpose with reason, then you'll likely enjoy it.

I also really enjoyed Hope Davis and Melissa McCarthy as well, and Elle Fanning wasn't half bad either.

I thought it was rather great. It is extremely watchable and even though the pay-off is disappointing (like almost all these kinds of films are) it is still very energetic and suspenseful.

It was decent, entertaining. Ending was weak.
