The horrors just don't end...Superhero Movie

I don't even think I smiled one time during this trailer, much less actually laughed.

It seems the only movie they're actually lampooning is Spider-Man, which is very surprising. And by lampooning, I do mean reenacting every scene, but with slapstick "humor."

Looked mildly amusing to me. I'll catch it on HBO.

The trailer looks hilarious. Love the part where he starts breakdancing on the side of the wall . Nice to see a serious actor like Leslie Nielsen (Nuts, Creepshow) cast in a comedic role for a change.

i must say that it at least looks like there is some structure to it, rather than just throw spoof after horrible spoof together (see Epic and Date Movie)

Looked at the cast list on IMDB. Michael Papajohn, who played the robber who "killed" Uncle Ben in Spiderman is in this movie, too. I wonder if he's playing the same role.

That's what I was thinking. I'm not a huge fan of spoof flicks, but this looks much better than those two horrible things.

I too loved the Leslie Neilsen scenes and the breakdancing. I don't think I'll see this unless ya'll love it.

Epic Movie premiered on Saturday on HBO. It was, bar non, the worst movie I've seen in my life.

For the most part, these movies aren't even spoofs. In the case of Date Movie and Epic Movie, they just recreated scenes line for line, and added a fart, boob, or racial joke. Or used the same joke over and over.

Then again, what did I expect from The Six Guys Who Saw American Pie: Naked Mile and Only Loosely Remembered The Plot?

Looks a little better than Date Movie, but still pretty terrible. I might give it a rent from Netflix.

Those were the only jokes I laughed at. Having LN in any of these movies brings it up a couple of notches.

I don't think saying it looks better than Epic/Date/Spartans Movie means much, if anything. Still looks like shit to me. They just don't know how to make a spoof film anymore.

VeronicaDultryakaDRAGONFLY

Are we sure this isn't just a serious adaptation of another popular Marvel character?

Does anyone remember a 1980s MArvel Spider-man character - Frog man I think? Just a kid in a frog suit who jumped around and couldnt control his powers and got into trouble. Spidey would try and stop. Just a couple of fun meaningless issues I guess. Why couldnt they buy that character for nothing, do a funny spoof movie that doesn't ape every scene of the Spider-Man film. It wouldn't be high art, but damn it could be funny.

Straight up lampooning a single movie is actually a step in the right direction.

This looked FAR better than Epic Movie or Meet the Spartans. I could see myself renting this.

I actually chuckled at the old lady in the shredder. The dog being slowly dragged in as well put it over the top.

Wow, they lifted a joke straight from Naked Gun 2 1/2 (which I think lifted the joke from Police Squad)...

Looks much better than the Epic/Date/Spartan Movies. Might be up there with Scary Movie 3-4 with a couple good jokes here and there.

You are right!

There was also, years before the Spider-Pig phenomenon, Peter Porker: The Spectacular Spider-Ham, a pig counterpart to Parker/Spider-Man.

At least this one looks like it resembles a movie and not a random collage of crap like Meet the Spartans. All the decent movies in these genre have a base story at their core, so this is a step in the right direction. I'm not sold this is going to be great, mind you, but at least they are trying as opposed to the lazy humorless stuff put out by the Date/Epic Movie guys. My one issue is that this just looks a lot like all the other superhero parody type films out there (Mystery Men, My Super Ex Girlfriend, Blankman, Batman & Robin, etc.)

Agreed. It looks like they actually have a movie in there. Whether or not it's funny, who knows. But Epic Movie and Date Movie and Meet the Spartans - Those are not spoofs. Those are just a mish mash of scenes in which they dress people up like Borat and Mr. and Mrs. Smith and 300, and they re-enact scenes from those films, and THAT is supposed to be funny.
