Are you looking for complete games? Because I don't believe there are many legit releases.

IMO the best are the 4 Suber Bowl boxes released by WB. Each taking your through ten years, including the Super Bowls, on 4 discs per box set.

NFL Films is finally getting on the ball. HOWEVER, you need to buy other games in order to get the Super Bowl in most cases. The '85 Bears (SB XX), '00 Ravens (SB XXXV), and the '99 Rams (SB XXXIV) come to mind. Prior to this year they released the Super Bowls in a format that cut out the huddles/commercials and was in most cases just play after play (think something like NFL Replay) with the radio broadcast audio for the team on offense. I wouldn't be surprised to see them slowly get all of the Super Bowls ready for DVD and then a release schedule like the prior SB sets where they would release I-XL in sets of 10 leading up to XLI-L coming out the Christmas after SB L.

Out of those, which have the entire NBA Finals (as in all games in the series) on them?

Yep...complete games.

So are those the complete games on the box sets? I know lately they've been releasing each Super Bowl on its own disc (complete game) along with each year's NBA Finals, but I don't know how long that's been going on, or how many past games/series have been released.

I know that the Dynasty series has some complete games, but not all of them.

And even the games aren't complete. On the Bulls set the games randomly jump forward minutes at a time.

All of the "Deluxe Sets" that dx23 mentioned have the original broadcasts of the championship series games in their entirety. I have all of them except the 1991 Bulls set.

Also add in the 1986 Boston Celtics series that Warner is releasing on March 28.

No, the NFL Films sets are not broadcasts of the games. Just NFL Film-style highlight reels. Great if that's your thing, but it's not mine. I would rather have the original taped broadcasts.

There are a few actual broadcast sets available from Warner, as some posters have mentioned. The 1986 Bears Greatest Teams set has twelve game broadcasts from that season, including the Super Bowl. There are also Greatest Games sets for the recent Rams, Ravens, and Buccaneers Super Bowl and playoff games. I believe there are also DVD releases for the last few Super Bowl games that have the broadcasts more or less in their entirety (minus between play activities).

Same here...I'm just interested in the complete games. So for Super Bowls, it's basically just the last few years (not really interested in buying huge sets for one game), and for the NBA Finals, the Deluxe Sets are the way to go (I have the 91 Bulls already)?

I wish the NBA would allow you to order different Finals series on DVD. I desperately want a copy of the 2003-2004 Detroit Pistons finals (I have the release with highlights) since that was their first championship since I have been old enough to know what's going on (I was born in '86, their other two were in '89 and '90).

Does anybody know if the release from the '89 Finals cuts out pieces of the games or if it's truly the entire games?

You would think that complete game collections would sell well on DVD. Complete seasons might be a bit pricey. But if they hand picked the 10 greatest games of your favorite team's history (championships, playoff wins, milestone games, first and last games at stadiums, playoff clinching games on the last day of the regular season, record breaking performances), and priced it right, I think they'd sell huge.

I've seen bootlegs on ebay, and they are always poor quality. I'm very surprised that the NFL is so slow in trying this. Possibly rights issues?

If you want to widen this to playoff games, I just purchased the '91 AFC WC game between the Oilers and Bills. Great quality for it's age.

On another subject, has anyone run across a reason why any and all copies of SB XX that have been available from either NFL Films, ebay, or the torrent scene have a severely washed out picture? I'd put the blame on NBC but the AFC Championship from that year didn't have the same issues. Unless going back to what Steve Sabol said about the 1st SB in the Superdome, the lighting made for some difficult conditions....perhaps NBC didn't adjust the contrast/brightness in their trucks correctly.

It's advertised as having the entire games. I actually have the set but it's in my 'to be watched' pile so I can't say I've verified this to be true.
