The Exorcist - 25th Anniversary Edition Question.
I couldn't find an existing thread. If there is one, sorry for the repost, please point me in the right direction.
I finally was able to get my hands on a copy of this today and I was excited because I wanted the original cut. I was reading about the differences between the versions on Wikipedia and there's something on there about how "Tubular Bells" is omitted from the 25th anniversary edition. I coudn't find anything else about it anywhere. Is "Tubular Bells" actually omitted from this version?

"Tubular Bells" is on the 25th Anniversary release. It's also on the "Version You've Never Seen". I just checked both of mine.
You can go to the "Chris' walk home" scene to check. I have no idea what the Wiki article is talking about.

I was looking at the Wiki article and you might've seen where it says the 4 min part of "Tubular Bells" was not used in subsequent soundtracks since it was originally used without his permission. By "soundtracks" I believe they meant audio soundtrack and not video soundtrack.

Ok good, Thanks Tom.
I guess I didn't pay attention to the title of that section "Track Listings," this is what I read from Wikipedia:

The Warner re-release (included in the 25th Anniversary collector's set) omits the main theme (Tubular Bells) and "Night of the Electric Insects" for rights reasons, but includes 15 minutes of music that Lalo Schifrin originally composed for the film.

I can confirm this-- "Tubular Bells" and "Night of the Electric Insects" are not on the 25th anniversary soundtrack CD (though the improved audio and addition of the Schiffrin music makes it worth owning), but you can get more or less complete music used in the original cut of the film on the Japanese version of the soundtrack CD.
