I had to get in on this action, and I don't even have a Blu Ray player yet... But I know it's inevitable... Does anyone know if the Blu Ray includes the content that was on the Walmart bonus disc? Probably not, but I thought I'd double check...

I don't have a playet yet either, but had to jump in on this (and have bought a bunch of other discs with promotions this last month). I'm waiting to see about another ps3 price drop, or at least a different game/movie package and the rumble controller.

I purchase TV sets all the time without watching them first. That way the video/audio quality is better and I don't have to sit through commercials. Although if you bought season 3, you would have to buy season 1 and 2 as well, so I can see where you are coming from. But your post is still kind of pointless when you think about it.

I have the bonus disc since I purchased the SD version back on release day and going by the titles of the bonus features the Wal-Mart bonus disc material is not on the BD version.
I'll know for sure when Amazon sends me my new BD version. Thanks to the OP for the heads up.

I figured as much. I know the material of several older bonus discs were included on some HD releases, but that is probably because the exclusive rights to the material lapsed. I was just hoping... I will probably just acquire the bonus disc somehow so my set feels "complete"... Thanks for the info. And a huge thanks to the OP. I doubt we'll find a price like this again, at least not for a long time...

I implied that he meant he bought it for more money thinking it was worth it at that price, so others considering it should definitely pick it up at THIS price.

I was trying to end the discussion, that is why I placed it in my original thread instead of going on with the discussion. I did originally have it end the end of the thread. Discussion is over as far as I am concerned. Others voiced their opinion. I wasn't aware entering a thread and stating that I never saw the show so I wasn't going to purchase was considered "bad."
So even though it was not directly said, you assumed he meant exactly what you thought yet somehow I was thread crapping. Okay.
As far as thread crapping, I did no such thing. Had I said, that shows sucks, then I would agree.
But, since some didn't care for me saying what little I did say, I'll remove the post. And for those confused..

They're trying to copy Star Trek TOS I guess (which retails for $217.99) However, I will NEVER pay over $100 for a single season of ANY show, no matter how good it is, let alone $200. They can kiss my you know what...
The ridiculous thing is, they already released S3 for $97, so why should earlier seasons cost more?
Anyway, I know this whole subject is off-topic and should really be part of the main forum--there probably is a thread already. But for 40 bucks, damn good price. Even though my S1 and S2 are on SD, so be it. At least they're widescreen...

Makes me want to buy a BR player. I also already have the SD version. I'd buy it for later, but I think I'll wait for BD players to be more reasonably priced, or until I get my new HTPC built with either a BD or combo drive. I already have the XBox 360 add on as well as a HD-A2. I spent way too much money over the holidays so I must resist. You could always ebay the SD version or give it to someone as a gift.

just watch season's 1 and 2 upconverted from the standard edition's and then watch Season 3 on BD Hi Def. Those prices for season 1 and 2 have got to be wrong. They want to make money don't they? Look how many of these S3 they will sell now that they are $40. They are still making money at the $40 price and picking up more people that will potentiallly watch the show season 4 on up on TV. Then they can charge more for advertising. Disney knows how to make money. The prices will not be that high if Disney is smart. I have a feeling that they will change the price on the older season's when they are finally made. For now just try to rent and watch it upconverted from your player. At least so you can know what's going on in the story.

Aren't you all arguing about an article that was written well over a year ago!?! Obviously Disney won't be selling seasons of Lost for $200 as they have (since the article was paosted, way back on Oct 24th, 2006) put out season 3 for $100.
That being said, I have broken two of my rules: no more seasons of Lost and no more blu-ray TV seasons to pick this one up for $40. Sure, still having a couple of hundred left in store credit helped the decision. I probably never would have paid $40 cash. Also, getting a chance to rewatch the end of last season before the start of this season was really tempting.

If you don't mind shopping at a TWEC store(FYE/Suncoast/Strawberries/Saturday Matinee/etc), then you can trade it in for store credit. According to the wherehouse.com site, Lost Season 3 is trading in for $15. If you take store credit at FYE, then you'll get an additional 25%. They also have a "brown bag" promotion right now that would net you an extra 20%. So, the store credit would be worth $21.75.

I just found the engadget article talking about the possibility of Lost season 1 on Blu Ray at $20 per disk (over $200 for the whole season). Please keep in mind that the article is dated Oct. 24th 2006 just after season 2 was completely aired on regular Television. Season 3 was just starting on it's 3rd episode on TV the week this article came out. Blue Ray players had barely been out a week when this was written. I am sure we can all agree that this is old news and the season's will obviously be cheaper when they finally arrive. We are just in a transitional period right now. Spread the word about Blu Ray. Convince your friends to buy in and they will make stuff we want faster (...and hopefully cheaper).

I didn't think they were going to give me the price match for my old order. The guy on the phone said it was too late, but I e-mailed anyway.
I ordered yesterday, planning to use this to return the old order. However, it looks like they did match after all from the e-mail, so I may have an extra one that would be available for $40 + $3 shipping--PM me if interested (just waiting to hear from another list if anyone local was interested)
