XBox 360 HD stolen - can someone please assist
I came home from work today and found that the HD from my 360 was removed and missing. I called XBox support, but they were less than helpful.
Is my gamertag info stored on the HD itself? If so, could someone please see if they see my gamertag currently online?
I am at a loss with this, and I don't even want to think about the $$ lost if this HD is not recovered.
Right now the only people in my house while I was gone was the construction people remodeling my kitchen.
My Yahoo messenger is on if someone can assist me.

Sorry to hear this man. I just looked and ZombieReign isn't online. It says it was last only yesterday(Monday).
I sent a "Friends Request" to see what happens.

what could they even do with just the HD? It isn't like they could play the games I downloaded, right? Isn't that tied between the console and HD?

Not to freak you out but isn't your CC and other info for LIVE on there or is that held on MS's servers?

Did they leave a door open? You know how doors are left open during work like that.
---
I have to go out now but I'll keep looking when I go on LIVE later. I'm sure I'll go on at some point between late this evening and tomorrow morning.

But to just take the HD? Doesn't make sense when the Wii was sitting on the side table right next to the TV. And all of the games on the rack there too.

Yeah, you'd think most likely the person who took it would already have an HD, but most likely with a 360 that RROD. I would have expected that they would take the 360 and leave the HD behind (j/k as I own a 360 that RROD previously)
The only other case I can think of is someone got a 360 Arcade version for Christmas, and decided to upgrade free of charge.

I haven't seen anybody else mention this, but I think a SHAKEDOWN is in order!
Was it "just" the 20gb HD, or the 120gb? I don't suppose MS has the ability to see the serial # on the HD when a person is online?

have you tried any of these?
-initial adjustments to improve the functioning or the efficiency and to bring to a more satisfactory state; "the new industry's economic shakedown"
-a very thorough search of a person or a place; "a shakedown by the police uncovered the drugs"
-intended to test a new system under operating conditions and to familiarize the operators with the system; "a shakedown cruise"
-extortion of money (as by blackmail)
I believe the kids are calling it a "shakedown" of sorts?!?!

If you have a friend with a 360, recover your gamertag on his system. That way, if the guy that took your HD tries to log on and buy/spend points, he won't be able to without recovering the gamertag back unless he knows your Live email account and password.
At least I think that's how it works.
