Looks very interesting, they are really pushing this hard, saw it in the trailers before the movie tonight I watched, started.

Saw the trailer about a month ago in the theater. Looks really good. I especially like how they use Chernobyl to illustrate how much city can change in such a short time without people.

Either the entire show is based on this book, or this show is a huge ripoff

it's great to see History Channel become less WWII obsessed - between this show (which was excellent) the Monster Quest series, Shockwave, tonight's new season of 'The Universe' and the upcoming UFO series - there's a slew of shows I'm really enjoying.

I saw some of this. The Chernobyl stuff was interesting but the CGI in the speculative sections was so bad that it was off-putting. I lost interest quick.

Thats interesting, because on the show they said that while Roaches would take a big hit in the colder climates, those that would live, would adapt and survive.

yes they did say that, for a creature that's been around since the dinosaurs, roaches would probably be the only creatures to live until the very end of earth's existence.
I thought it was fascinating that cats would adapt better and live longer than most breeds of dog.

I watched this and really enjoyed it. I have a real interest in ruins and contemplating how famous cities would look abandoned was really cool. The CGI wasn't great but the whole point was to make you think about stuff in my opinion and they definitely did that for me. Thinking about all the house pets dying was kind of sad.

The worst part was my dog was laying next to me on the couch.
