Why doesn't Rock Band have keyboards?
I understand that not every song has keys, but there are plenty that do. The keys could even double some bass lines to 'keep busy'. Hell, you can't even do a bass player solo career, so that could be the same with keys. The screen already has alot of space taken up (In local play), so maybe have the keys as an alternate to another instrument, bass for example. Online is a different story, you could have up to 5 people jamming.
As for songs, a ton of great songs could be added from Van Halen (Jump/Right Now), Journey(Seperate Ways), Pink Floyd (tons), Dio (Rainbow in the Dark), Crue (Home Sweet Home), Bon Jovi (Lay your hands), Deep Purple (Highway Star, Lazy/Space Truckin/Perfect Strangers), Ozzy (Mister Crowley), etc... The list is endless of good songs that have keyboards in them.
I think keyboards would be cool because it's a precise instrument. Sure you have to hit notes with the other instruments, but with keyboards, easy could be one or two fingers, and move up to chords with both hands. Another thing is, you would actually be playing the keyboard on the actual keys, basically teaching you how to play (for real). The key periphal could be something like 22 keys or so. Seems like an easy instrument to port into a game like RB.
Thoughts?

My friends and I were talking about that. I can't remember which song, but there's one that has like a 30 second keyboard solo at the end. It would be cool if the had a sequel or expansion pack that added a keyboard.

Have you guys ever played piano/keyboard? It's probably as difficult if not more than playing drums. Unless they make a 5 key keyboard, which would be lame.

Keyboards are great. They make Deep Purple, and many other bands. They add depth and smoothness. Which doesn't take away from hardness!!! Add more layers = yes!!!
Also, if you have kids, adding a keyboard is a no brainer in terms of learning life skills.
