So... new smilies? Please???

Just a reminder... we had a thread where we voted on some new smilies for DVDTalk. pilot agreed to add in all of the smilies, and then, uh... stuff happened, and the new smilies got added in.

Now that we have new lead admins, and more moderators, and a whole new management chain... could we get these smilies added in?

-- gah
-- doh
-- wub
-- nopics
-- dance
-- tinfoil
-- scared
-- nanadance
-- kvrdave
-- distract

Thanks a 1,000,000!

I still think we need some sort of love type smilie. Maybe the one where the little yellow guy's eyes turn into hearts?

I like that my website is still the reference point for the tinfoil and dance smilies.

Yeah, now that we're finally free from the oppressive Kleinman tyranny , could we also expand the poll options too? (Ability to list more than 10 items with a longer than 100 character limit)

I can see the tinfoil one being used an average of 100 times per politics thread.

I would think it should be mandatory for all posts there.

So what is the official word on this? Not to be a pest, but... well, okay, so I'm being a pest. This shouldn't fall in the "too difficult to do" category...

I think Internet Brands is strictly anti-smiley.

I don't think our new overlords know that they are supposed to monitor and reply in this forum yet.

Yes, it makes no sense to have two different ones.

If it make you happy, remove banana dance and add new one.

No offense to those who want it, but how is this being considered, yet something useful such as more PM space isn't?

I would imagine that increasing the PM limit would have a much larger effect on server resources than adding a few smilies.

Because increasing the amount of PM space has a direct impact on the forum servers. Adding in new smilies has a very, very minor impact on the servers.

Server space= $$$

EDIT TO ADD: which, yeah, is what WallyOPD said, I guess.

Thanks. You don't mind if I keep bringing this point up, nagging mods and admins until it gets done, do you? I kind of feel responsible.

Or, if it makes it any easier, you could just make me a forum admin, and I'll take care of it. I'd have everything in tip-top shape in no time.

I'm glad to see Mojo is still working on the job he was elected to do.

Well look at it from Mojo's point of view. If he can bring this kind of pork home to his constituency, think about the windfall of support it will provide him in the next election.
