Well, I really wasn't planning on watching this, but it's got some nice looking woman so I will give this a try. Plus, it's only 7 episodes (strike-shortened)
Synopsis:
The Pilot will repeat on Tuesday and episode 2 will be on Wednesday at 10pm (It's regular timeslot)

I heard there is some controversy about this show because of it's similarities with Lipstick Jungle. Darren Star is the producer of this show and Candace Bushnell is the writer/producer of Lipstick Jungle and both of them worked on Sex and the City (which I never watched)

Yeah. I've seen both pilots ("Lipstick Jungle" and "Cashmere Mafia") and they are more or less the same show except the girls are early 30s in CM and mid-40s in LJ and LJ has a lot of class were CM is kinda cheesey and guilty-pleasurey. It wasn't bad, but Lipstick is definately Much, Much better.

Entertainment Weekly says 7 episodes of Cashmere Mafia and Lipstick Jungle were filmed before they both got shut down.

I sort of zoned out after about 20 minutes into the pilot episode. Not a good sign when that happens, and this episode just didn't quite endear me to any of these characters.

Wow, I really enjoyed it. Of course I went in with absolutely zero expectations, but I was surprised by how much I ended up like it.
At first I was sort of like "Ok Lucy Liu and 3 other generic actresses,,,couldn;t they have found a better cast?" but by the end I really was drawn in to each woman's character. I really liked the twist with having the one "old maid" character come to realization she is a lesbian. And I was pretty much cheering when the red-head gave it to her husband. That was awesome how she did it.
I guess I knew that Lucy Liu's engagement wouldn;t last once I saw "Special Guest Star Tom Everett Scott". Oh well.
I am actually really looking forward to what happens next.

Yep - pretty much the mirror image of Big Shots, except that Big Shots was actually funny.
That means this will probably succeed since more chicks will care about 4 middle-aged women and their relationship and career problems than 4 middle-aged guys.

Had to groan at the last line thrown in there by the floozy.
"You know that's what they call you right."
Ugh. Just had to get the name of the show in there, didn't you.

I caught this last night and I actually really enjoyed it. I thought the twist with Bonnie Sommerville's character was interesting. I read that Lourdes Benectdito will have more guest appearances as her potention girlfriend.
I really enjoyed Miranda Otto as well. She put on a good American accent and IMO was surprisingly hot especially in that red dress.
Frances O'Connor also had a good American accent.
Will definitely watch on Wednesday.
