Already own the regular version (WS) so it'd better get remastered picture and audio and a decent selection of features for me to upgrade.

ditto. I was pissed that Sony decided to discontinue the WS version and keep the FS at bargain bins. Glad to see this one coming in Blu-Ray too.

Same here - will definitely need some extras of value for me to upgrade.

I had the opportunity to watch this at Roger Ebert's Overlooked Film fest a year or so ago and did not. A big regret. The cinematography is sumptuous and the story is beautifully told. It is one of my favourite films.

But you know, I'm still fine with the Superbit until I upgrade to HD.

If the extras are good enough than I'll consider getting this.

Well it's about bloody time. I'll be picking this up no matter the special features. As long as it's WS, with a great transfer, then it'll be all mine.

I hate that this flick is so overlooked/underrated. It's one of the best films of '90s as far as I'm concerned.

I absolutely love this movie. Assuming the extras are decent, I will definitely be going Blu with this one.

Assuming we are talking about R1, the version I have (which I bought many years ago) is a 2-sided disc fullscreen/widescreen combo. Is there another version that is fullscreen only?

^^^ Yup, they dropped the widescreen side from that release a long time ago. Now it's foolscreen only.

I have a Superbit of this, but I'll double dip if there will be any good extras. I love this movie!

I can certainly appreciate the film's merits, but it falls under my "people can rarely enjoy a film about their area of expertise" theory. I study human genetics, and how much they oversimplify, mischaracterize and just plain get wrong ends up being too distracting. Of course, the fact every that other person I meet asks, "Oh, did you like that GATTACA movie?" upon hearing I study human genetics doesn't help.

Still, I agree with the sentiment that it looked fantastic, and the story did have its interesting twists.

One of my good friends is a genetic counselor and loves the hell out of the movie. Takes all kinds, I suppose.

As I recall, the original disc had some pretty nice extras. I wonder if this is just a port and relabeling.

cheers,

While I would love some good special features, just give it a good transfer and I'm all over this. My original copy was stolen three years ago, and I have never been able to replace it.

The film itself will be presented in anamorphic widescreen, along with an English Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround track. Extras will include deleted scenes, a Substance Test Outtake, and three making of featurettes (Original “Making Of” Featurette, a “Welcome to Gattaca” Featurette featuring new interviews with Ethan Hawke and Jude Law, and a “Do Not Alter?” exposé on DNA testing).

Gattaca may have been my first Superbit title... Or was it Crouching Tiger... Eh whatever. This is good news for those that don't have it I suppose but I'll pass.
