Burn Notice fans: "Touching Evil" to re-air on Universal HD

"Touching Evil", the 2004 series starring Burn Notice's Jeffrey Donovan is to start re-airing on Universal HD channel January 6th.

I have never seen this show but I heard good things about it. Already set my DVR. Should give me something to watch during the strike, and definitely no new Burn Notice yet.

Certainly recommended if you've never seen it and are a fan of Burn.

Eh, it's recommended even if you're not a fan of Burn.

Could we possibly get a DVD release or at least have these episodes available for download? I'm so happy for those of you who will get to see it, but I don't get this channel. Oh well.

Very good show! I think you will definitely enjoy it especially if your a fan of Jeffrey Donovan. I'm surprised USA bailed on it after only 1 season.

I'm not a fan of Burn Notice but I loved Touching Evil. Thanks for the heads up.

Awesome! Thanks, Jadzia.

Also, on an unrelated note, UniversalHD has started showing Andy Barker, PI. Hopefully, Andy Richter Saves the Universe isn't far behind. Lord knows i'm so tired of their constant showing of Surface.

Andy Richter Saves the Universe is a Fox show, so it's not as likely to show up on UniversalHD. It has played on HDNet in the past.

This would be great if the bastards from DirecTV didn't rip this from us and want us to pay an extra $5 for the channel.

What's this about then? I thought this was part of the HD package?

Not anymore. Yanked on 12/15 as a part of the new HD Access tier. Also has Smithsonian HD, HD Movies and one other channel that escapes me.

Weird. I just turned to channel 74 (Universal HD) and I get it fine. I tried that Smithsonian channel and it said "channel not purchased".

Are you sure?

ETA: I just checked the D*TV site. They do have 5 channels listed on an 'HD Extra Pack': Universal HD, HD Net Movies, MGM HD, M-HD, and Smithsonian. I am getting in the HD Net Movies and Universal, but not the other 3. Very odd. The two I am getting are the two that are under channel 100, I wonder if they just have yet to move them around or something.

I hope I still get the channel on Monday so I can tape the pilot!

Comcast has it. It is listed as UHD for me.

And for anyone who's interested, UHD is also showing the pilot of Kidnapped right after Touching Evil.

Don't get that channel either. One of my most-wanted shows on DVD. I LOVED it. More my type of show than "Burn Notice", though that's enjoyable.

Oh, hot damn -- I DO get this channel. I didn't even think of checking the HD channels because I don't have an HDTV. I apparently get a downconverted version of the channel along with my digital cable. SCORE!!!

Thanks. I've already set my DVR to record the pilot episode, but doing a search on the show, there seems to be several chances to see it.

That was a fantastic two hour pilot. I'm truly saddened this show didn't succeed, even though its success would necessarily mean I would have never seen the truly excellent Burn Notice.

Why on Earth did USA cancel this?

I've always wondered the same thing. And where is the DVD!

I'm keeping mine on DVR so I can at least record it on DVD since I don't think USA will release it on DVD. OTOH, I guess it could happen if they decided to release Burn Notice, they might do the same for TE. I don't even want features, just give me the damn show in widescreen...

Great pilot last night...too bad this didn't pull in the ratings when it initially aired.

I was considering burning the episodes to disc as well until I watched the Pilot and noticed the Universal HD logo at the bottom right corner. That ruined it for me, but I am pretty anal. Guess I'll just keep hope alive for a DVD release.

I have an Emmy DVD for TE, but it was that much better watching it in HD.
