Help with New Years Eve mix for restaurant crowd.
Hi. I am working on a mix to play at my sister's restaurant for new years eve. So far, I've got some good stuff, but I know that there's certain staples that I'm missing. Or if you see something that would work well with the other songs or whatever, feel free to post it. Also, most of these are just songs I like and have a "good feel" for what that's worth. If this were for a personal party, the playlist would be quite different.

it's more of a background music mix than a "kick out the jams" type thing. I agree a bunch of sappy ballads are still on there that I gotta remove. I'll definitely add 1999, since it's a staple. Not sure about "After Midnight" since I can't stand Eric Clapton, but maybe it'll be needed. Thanks for the suggestions.

Here's the playlist I gave my wedding DJ for use during dinner. We got a LOT of compliments for it being young music (vs Sinatra and the "norm" for wedding dinner) without being intrusive, overbearing or a disturbance to conversation.
“Chasing Cars” - Snow Patrol
“Over My Head”/”How to Save a Life” – The Fray
“Champagne Supernova”/“Wonderwall” – Oasis
“Today”/”1979”/”Tonight Tonight” – Smashing Pumpkins
“Soul to Squeeze”/”Behind the Sun”/”The Zephyr Song” - Red Hot Chili Peppers
“3 AM” – Matchbox 20
“Till I Hear it from You”- Gin Blossoms
“Iris” - Goo Goo Dolls
“Dreams”/”Linger” – Cranberries
“One”/”All I Want is You” – U2
“Love Song”/”Friday I’m in Love” – The Cure
“If You Could Only See” - Tonic
“Counting Blue Cars” - Dishwalla
“Drive” – The Cars
“Hanging By A Moment” - Lifehouse
“Here's To The Night” - Eve 6
“Out of My Head” - Fastball
“Everything You Want” - Vertical Horizon
“Take A Picture” – Filter
“Breakfast at Tiffany’s” – Deep Blue Something
“Amber” – 311
“Crash into Me”/”Everyday” – Dave Matthews Band
“Undeniable” – Mat Kearney
“Roll to Me” – Del Amitri
“Barely Breathing’ – Duncan Sheik
“Don’t Speak”/”Underneath it All” – No Doubt
“You’re Beautiful’ – James Blunt
