not many details on this one, but i'm hoping that some of the musical sequences will be lengthened.

Yea, I'll be buying this from the pawn shop in a few years. If you're going to take another year to make a extended cut they should at least tell us so we can make a informed decision. It just makes me NOT buy DVDs in the hopes they will release an extended cut, etc. later on.

The new cover art ain't bad but I like the other 2 disc cover better.
I may have to upgrade since the new version is over 17 minutes longer according to AMAZON.

Yep, this is probably another in the long line of Fox titles that recently got or are getting special editions but not on BD (see Big, The Full Monty, Home Alone, The Graduate, That Thing You Do, Romancing the Stone, The Apartment, 12 Angry Men, and some more I'm forgetting).

While I can't judge without having seen it, I just felt that the pacing of the theatrical cut was just fine, and as a result, I just think that an extended cut would be more likely to damage it than enhance it.
But I could be wrong.
