I'll start this year's thread. I don't know for sure, but the tell-tale skinny, tall box combined with my recently busted Xplorer hopefully means there's a GH III there for me from the Mrs. on Xmas day. We'll see....

The only video game related item I was expecting to get was the 360 wireless headset. But since my 360 red ringed a few days ago, I told my girlfriend to hold off on it and get me something else instead. Maybe the Wii Zapper?

I expect nothing game related. My wife generally doesn't buy me stuff for fear it's something I don't want or could get cheaper than she could anyway. It's a shame really... I'd like a Wii

I got Super Mario Galaxy and Mario and Sonic @ the Olympics. I also got 1 extram Wii-remote and 2 nunchucks. So now I have 3 full Wii-remote sets. Only need 1 more for the "Whole enchilada."
I also got gift certifs/money. I may use my $25 gc at BB for Links Crossbow (if they have it). And I have about $70 at Target. Not sure if I'll use it for a game or now. I really want to pick up Zack and Wiki.
But hey... whatever I don't buy now, is bound to price drop by my birthday!
Of course, I just remembered that Wii Fit, Super Smash, and Mario Kart are all on their way.. I could save my GC until then.

I got Madden and The Simpsons for the 360, which was what I asked for.
Most importantly, I got some points and a 120GB HD (perfect for Rock Band). Also, the HDMI cable as a message from the gf to move my console and fake instruments out of the living room and into my TV room.

Dang, Goldberg. THe family that plays together, eh?
Me: Oblivion GOTY
Me and wife (from Santa): Scene It LCA
Son: The ESA multipack (I've heard FF2 is lame, but Cars and Open Season are supposed to be pretty good.)
For games, I usually do a list of the exact titles, or just say "BB/CC GCs". but yeah, I can usually find games (and other stuff) cheaper than other people, so at Christmas time I have to make myself stop comparison priceshopping ("You got this at Walmart, right? That's where it was cheapest.")
This was cute: at school (kindergarten) they did a little "need/want" book. He put food, house, water, love all for "needs" and illustrated them appropriately; for "want" he put "Wii video games" and drew a little picture of himself playing a game.

It's a really great game and you can truly play a four-player game on just one card (that what we are going to do later today, now that the kids have their own DSs).
The whole concept behind MP-DS is that you have shrunk down by Bowser so the world is very big. The boards are themed around gardens, music rooms, libraries, and even a DK statue.
The mini-games play off this smallness and you ride RC cars, rubber duckies, climb books, etc.
The single player even has bosses at the end of each board. Not just the final board like in other MP games.
I prefer this MP game to the Wii and GCN versions.
I'd give this title a solid A. We like it a lot.

Only game I got was NBA 2k8. Hopefully I will start playing it soon, since I already have so many games I've bought myself and have already started.

Thew wife and I got Scene it: LCA about a week ago, and love it. It saves all the questions asked so you don't get all the same questions a bunch of times. And a great movie related item we can get into even if she doesn't do that well

For my birthday yesterday I scored Phantom Hourglass for the DS.
For Christmas I got Tomb Raider: Anniversary (wii) and Rock Band (game only). I think I might return Rock Band and throw down some of my own money to get the whole set. Also with the negative reviews about the Wii controls in Tomb Raider, that might go back for the 360 version.
I also got a 360 wireless headset.
