Sweet... good news for those who don't care to use bootcamp, Pokerstars has a downloadable 'beta' version for Mac users. http://www.pokerstars.com/poker/download/mac/

I have played exclusively at Full Tilt for the past year and am looking forward to being able to play on another site. I'd love another option, especially when Full Tilts servers go down.

I'll probably create an account today... I know this subject is talked about ad nauseam, but does anyone know of a quick and easy way to deposit funds for US players? I've read Visa cards work... lol, it happens to be the only credit card I don't have.

I tried making a deposit with Visa, but it did not work as I suspected. Thank you Big Brother, for protecting me from myself.

Stars now supports echecks for U.S. players http://www.pokerstars.com/poker/real-money/echecks/

You can also deposit with prepaid Visa cards, All Access etc.

You could have played a long time ago if you weren't a computer elitist snob and bought a normal computer. ;)

Cool thanks, I'll definitely try depositing with a All-Access Visa.

Hey... I resemble that remark! And besides elitism has its privileges, just the mere mention that I own a Mac has changed my life in so many ways, I no longer have to open doors for myself, waiting in lines... no longer a issue, and not only do women wink at me, they whistle too! The times Jack Nicholson isn't sitting court-side at a Laker game isn't because he didn't want to go to the game, or is too busy shooting a movie... no, it's because I own a Mac baby! All that, plus my car goes faster now!

So, I'm not complaining. You should try it, you know what they say: once you go Mac you wont go back!

 I think the saying goes: hate the player not the game...

UPDATE: Anyway...I tried my Mastercard on the off chance that it might work, no go, apparently Visa/Mastercard(s) with a debit option work but those plain vanilla cards don't.

So I looked into the deposit options, the Visa All Access, turns out my local Vons grocery store charges (or Visa does,) a fee of $10 just to activate a prepaid card and I would have to wait 24 hours until I could use the card... 24 hours!?! no thanks!

Further sleuthing on the message boards, 2+2, pocket5's, etc... apparently echecks is the way to go. It works a lot like Netteller but unlike netteller, money is transfered from your checking right to the site not to a middle man like Netteller. All you need to do is have your checking account number the routing number and your Social Security Number. I wasn't too crazy about having to give my Social but I figured I gave it to Netteller in the past... and hell, my HR department (which is HUGE) has mine sitting in some filling cabinet that at-least few dozen people probably have access to, so why not.

So echecks it was, worked like a charm... the only downside, the least you can transfer is $25 and the most is $100 this is for first time users and the amount increases on subsequent deposits. The best thing about it... no fees and it was instant!!! You deposit directly into your cashier on Stars. Why this isn't more widely known or talked about is beyond me... I'm now up and running on Pokerstars and well on my way to clearing the deposit bonus...

Side note: the Turbo sng's on Stars feel like regular sngs on Fulltilt (time-wise). The blinds on a turbo sng at Fulltilt move up every 3 minutes whereas on Stars it's every 10 minutes!!!!

The Mac software runs pretty smooth for the most part and there are twice as many players then Fulltilt so I'm happy... see you at the tables!

-edit- p.s Thanks Thrush for the echecks suggestion!

Just a minor clarification -- eChecks deposits are credited instantly but they still take a few days to be debited from your checking account. Basically, PokerStars fronts you the money immediately as you wait for it to clear.
