DVD Talk Gold Edition
I KNEW there would be a director's cut, given all the deleted material Roger Avary talks about.
I'm surpised they're not including a "A Hero Comes Home" music video.

Is this director's cut going to remedy the annoying Austin Powers-style fight scene in the mead hall? I'm not saying I necessarily wanted to see 3-D motion-capture shlong, but the fact that he was running around naked, doing battle, always with other stuff convienently placed to block his stuff only drew more attention, and was unintentionally funny. IMO, they should've either gone all out with that scene, or just put a loin cloth on him, and forget the fact that he was naked in the original story. The Austin Powers business was very distracting, and pretty stupid.

This film will really suffer without the 3D but I liked it enough to check out the director's cut.

is there a running time for the Director's cut of 'Beowulf' - I read early on, that some of the violence would have resulted in the film being R-rated.

I couldn't imagine seeing Beowulf in 2D instead of 3D
In 3D, it was less like just watching a movie and more like an event! It'll lose too much in the transition.
