You have to have 2.10 PS3 and 3.80 PSP firmware.

Wow, that's pretty great. I might actually get a PSP one of these days. How well did this end up working for Lair?

If they can get some form of PS2 games going on this, that'd be crazy.

Not possible.. mainly because the PSP lacks a second analog stick and two buttons.

Wait a sec, you pop in a PS1 disc in the PS3 and this will work? I still have few PS1 discs ...

The way I read it, the disc goes into the PSP, interfaces with the PS3 through RP, and the game is then playable on the PSP.

Wait, does this mean that the game is uploaded to the memory stick on the PSP, or is it only streaming from the PS3?

Do you mean the PS3 or does the PS3 produce an image for the PSP to read off a stick?

What 2 buttons are yo talking about? PS1 has 2 more buttons than PSP.

Yeah, sorry, clearly a PS1 disc won't fit into a PSP.

That's how I'm reading this myself. Maybe Pixy can post a link or something for more clarification.

Okay, I read more about it, and yes, you play the PS1 disc in your PS3 streamed to your PSP.

Yeah, the PS3 handles all of the processing of the PS1 game, and streams the video information to your PSP over Wi-fi. You use your PSP controls as a wireless controller. There is some lag, so this is best suited for turn based RPGs and slower paced games, but maybe playing with the lag settings will help it a little more for action games.

Seems more of a "look what we can do" than an actual useful feature. For me, at least.

So, you can now play the games on your PSP...instead of your PS3, which you need to play it anyways? RichC2 is right. I just don't understand Sony at all...

ok and why should I stream the game to the PSP if I can play in on the PS3 on the bigger screen? I don't really see the point or do I miss something?

Because you don't lug your PS3 and bigger screen with you to the hotspots you use your PSP at.

So you can play these games streaming over the internet to the PSP? Interesting.

So if you have a newer 80gig PS3 you'd still have all the compatibility problems using this method?

Probably, but I don't think it affects PS1 games as much as PS2 games.

So what if this is a "oh wow, look what it can do" thing... It's neat regardless, because that's the only game system can do this as of now

Nintendo! Make the DS play NES games via the Wii....

It's neat if you can do it at hotspots, if you have to be in wifi distance of system the neat factor just isn't quite there.
