I was just at FYE, and they had a table in the front of the store with "Box sets up to 50% off". Most of the prices were average on things like Simpons, Angel, Prison Break, etc.

They had 4 of the Star Trek Motion Pictures Collection (with all 10 2-Disc Special Editions) box sets with sale stickers of $29.99 (with a "regular price" of $89.99).

Whoa - is this the same box set that DDD was selling for $38.88 shipped in the recent thread that generated 6 pages of replies?

Got a link? FYE.com shows it that set at $78.99.

FYE B&M rarely has the same prices as fye.com. I'll check out my local FYE tomorrow to see if this is a chain wide sale. I'll post my findings here. Thanks for the heads-up, flix1.

It's that price in the store.

The BOGO Free sale that we had for the box sets ended today, and was replaced with a majority of the titles on sale.

Thanks for the heads up, Flix. Somerville (Circle) NJ store had several of them. Thought the clerk was going to have a heart attack when it rang up $29.99

Glad I could be of service to a Forum that has probably cost me more than I have saved. :)

If I didn't already own all but 1 of the Special Editions (even if I didn't own 2 of them), I would have bought this myself.

I got one. It wasn't with the rest of the ones on sale, it was one one of the sides of rows of DVD's with the usual box sets, and still marked at $89.99. Asked a clerk to ring it up for me, and it came to $29.99. Thanks OP!

I canceled my DeepDiscount order and picked this one up. Not only a better price, but I'm sick of waiting for DD to ship mine. Who knows when the fuck it would arrive, anyways...

Same deal here. I asked an employee if it was part of any sale and he said no but it scanned at $29.99...and I got the last (only?) one. Thanks flix1.

I called to inquire at my local Harrisburg, PA FYE, she confirmed they had 4 in store. About an hour later I arrived to get one, there were only 3. She said, after I called, she put the stickers on to mark the sale (hadn't been done prior to my call) and sold one minutes later.

I cancelled my DDD order as they kept pushing back my ship date. So basically I got 20% off on my DDD set which we weren't able to do at the time of the sale. I'm happy.

Damn! That's an incredible deal, $3 apiece for the 2-disc SEs? Wow, I think I only paid, oh, about 5 times that per movie as they were released....

Oh well, now I just have to wait until they come out on HD-DVD and buy them all again....while I am at it, maybe I should grab some Paramount stock too? -wink-

Just picked one up at the Levittown, NY store. I saw at least one more in the aisle. They were marked regular price ($89.99), but scanned the sale price.

Thanks for the heads-up!

I was feeling sorry for myself, having already received the $38.88 set from DD. Then I did the math. There's one Minnesota FYI in Burnsville, which is a 40 mile round trip for me. $5 worth of gas, right there. MN sales tax adds $1.95. Makes it a two buck difference.

Thanks O.P. I picked up the set at the FYE in NYC. They had around ten left. Also some nice deals on some Godzilla tin sets (3 films for $13, 3 newer films for $30). I wanted to get those, but I'm broke.
I bet Paramount is clearing the Trek boxsets so they can make a new one to coincide with the new film. I wonder if they'll make slimmer cases, as this boxset is quite monsterous.
(It's also pretty sad that this FYE has one of the best past generation videogame selection around. Maybe it's because a lot are still full price.)

Well I did the math for me and with my 10% BSP discount, even adding in sales tax, I STILL paid $10 more for the one I finally got last week from DeepDiscount! Crap, that was a good deal previous to today.

Priced at $89.99, but rang up at $29.99.

Neither Sam's or FYE had a copy for me. :(

If anyone ends up with a second copy they would be willing to sell me i would really appreciate it. PM me if you might.

I picked up the last 2 from the Tacoma FYE.

I had to search for it..it wasnt at the front where they had all the boxsets..it was way in the back, I had to look for 20 minutes.

Finally had them both and brought them up to the sales associate, she looked at the price stickers, and was shocked/amazed 'Wow' she said, another associate looked at the package and was like 'Why is that so cheap?'

The lady said 'Its on sale'.

Then I said 'Yeah it was on sale starting yesterday'

She again remarked 'Dang this is a good deal, its pretty cheap'

Then I said 'Paramount must be cleaning out old stock, so they can make a new boxset'

And both of them looked at me heh.

I walked out with the last 2

Big Thanks to the OP. One is a gift for the better half's father, and the other I am keeping for myself.

I had already bought one from DD for my partner's father, and yesterday I bought a set for me at the Ballston FYE in Arlington, VA. There were two left on the shelf after I purchased mine.

I'll be walking around downtown Chicago tomorrow and there's an fye there. I already own Star Trek 1, 2, and 4.... but at that price I may get tempted.

I had 2,4,6.

But got one regardless. Too good deal to pass up.

Those three will be giving to my brother.

Thanks. Just got back from there and picked one up. i looked all over the store and coudn't find one; but I asked a clerk taht worked there and she got one from behind the counter. I didn't see anymore back there so that may have been the last one.

I ordered 2 from DD; one for me and one as a gift. Since DD won't deliver by Christmas, I'll give this one as a gift. I wonder if I can cancel just one of them from DD even though they are on the same order. If I can't I'l just ebay the extra one.

I saw one last night with an $89 price tag...didn't realize they'd scan differently.
Maybe I'll stop by later, since I've got a gift card to get rid of...

Picked one up today. Thanks OP! For those having trouble finding one, don't forget that Suncoast, Sam Goody, F.Y.E. and the Wherehouse often have the same deals. If you don't have one of the stores in your area, check one of the others. Maybe that's obvious but I thought I would point it out just in case.

Another thanks to the OP

The FYE I went to had a stack of 3 of these huge sets with price stickers of $89.99 but there was a tag above the stack showing the sale price of $29.99. What's odd was that there was the the smaller box with only the original crew movies right next to this bigger set for something like $49.99.

This may be dead...

I was at FYE this morning in Fairfax VA and when scanned twice (register and in store product scanner) it came up 44.99, regularly 89.99.

Could be a fluke....but in case anyone is still looking it may be a dead deal...

I was going to get a third set... but I left it there

thx guys..mine was marked and the cashier knew exactly what i was looking for. unfortunately, both fyes closing down in denver :(

I went to Suncoast today, and the price scanned there as $44.99, which is still a pretty damn good price for 10 movies. Since I was buying it for a friend, I let him decide if it was worth the extra $15, and he said he just wanted the box, so I picked it up.

If my DD order goes through in the next month, I can always return it to Suncoast, if not, it's still a pretty good deal.

I'm still kinda kicking myself, I was at FYE on Tuesday looking for Blade Runner, and I saw a Star Trek box for $90, having no idea it was ringing up $30.

Crud. I really wanted this, but couldn't get back to FYE until Saturday. I was there on Sunday, but I didn't know about this deal until that night. Oh well. Maybe another deal will come along...

I think this deal is dead. I went to an FYE in Manchester, CT and the set was ringing up at $44.99. I bought one a few days ago in another FYE for 29.99 plus 10% off w/ BSP.
