12 Angry Men : 50th Anniversary March 2008

Nothing that big in terms of extras, but at least it should be anamorphic.

20th Century Fox Home Entertainment will release "12 Angry Men (50th Anniversary Edition)" on DVD this March 4th.

Extras will include: "Beyond A Reasonable Doubt: Making 12 Angry Men" and an "Inside the Jury Room" featurette.

I don't own the previous release; good thing I held off as long as I did.

Fab! A release of the Showtime remake with jack Lemmon would be nice as well.

Actually, this is annoying. They just released 12 Angry Men (Decades Collection with CD) on 12/4/07. I recently saw the play and was going to pick the DVD up. Glad I didn't. Thanks for the heads up OP.

Cool. I really didn't want that silly decades collection one. This should be better, I'm in.

Well considering you'll get an anamorphic video, finally, I think that solely is worth double dipping on this classic.

I really love that cover!

It figures that 1 day (1!) after I order the DVD off on Half.com, this is announced. Ugh.

I was just thinking about that one. Guess there's no chance they'll include it as a special feature with this release.

I suppose Fox isn't even considering a Blu-Ray release for this...

Nice.

I'll second the motion that William Friedkin's excellent 1997 remake needs to finally be released as well.

Audio

I sure hope the audio is remastered. The scene when it's raining outside is a mess. I can barely hear the dialogue over what sounds like a shower of breaking glass.

There still isn't an anamorphic release of The Abyss. In Region 1 at least...

Great cover but 50th year ed. deserves more special bonuses especially a commentary track!

Meh. Nothing against the quality of the remake on its own, but the original is a rare case of a movie being virtually flawless that no remake is necessary.
