Soooo tempting. Yet I know all of these will be in Hi-Def some time in the future. Coupled with my ownership of 11 of the Bond films and my serious disappointment with Casino Royale (I admit I may be the only one there), I'll pass on these.

truely an ugly boxset - with Casino Royale just sitting there in the middle (mmmm I'm sure that this is mentioned in some other thread :) !!)

I basically got this for $88 shipped through the Black Friday deals on the Bond sets and Casino Royale. That's all it is, right? Just those four sets, Casino Royale, and the black box?

SOOOO tempting. I have a $25 gift certificate and an Amazon Visa. Hmmmm...In the same boat. But yet, I shall pass cos I own the individual sets and Casino Royale. This set should not cost more than $80. Am happy with $19 I paid for each individual set at CC on BF

Yeah, I am in the same boat. I have all of the Bond films and have been waiting on an HD release instead of picking up the newer releases. Couple that with Casino Royale already out of HD out now, I just can't justify spening the $100 even though that is a FANTASTIC deal!

No Aston Martin = No Sale! :)
I picked up all of these sets at CC also. Good deal for those who don't have them.

No, she pulled the "I'm not working right now and we have a 3 1/2 month-old daughter" card.
Plus she's done shopping for me.
She did say if she gets the job she recently interviewed for, and my bonus is a good one, I could pay full price for it. But what fun is that?

I ordered the individual sets during Black Friday and I already own Casino Royale on Blu-ray, otherwise this would be tempting.
Also, the James Bond Ultimate Sets (1-4) are available on DeepDiscount's B1G1 Free sale. The sets are $48.97 each ... making it $97.94 for all (less Casino Royale).

I find it somewhat amusing that, according to the packaging, Casino Royale has no DTS track, while all the other movies do...

Really tempting, but I have Casino Royale on Blu and all the other movies in the ancient sets and never watch them. I think I'm going to pass. Yes... I... really... am... going... to... pass...

Glad I waited. I was close to pulling the trigger on the 4 individual sets from Deep Discount (B1G1 sale).

agreed! this is just an extra box holding the four sets (which were $18 on black friday anyway!) plus the casino royale. getting rid of overstock, i guess!

only two words do justice in describing this box
PUSSY. GALORE.
(i bought the individual sets for less than $20 ea and C.R. for 7.99 but the outer box is kinda cool.)

As usual they'd probably re-release it with DTS in the future.

Same here. Glad this deal came after those other ones. I might have been in for this at $110 and kicking myself for not being more patient. Instead, I have the reassurance that I got a great deal a few weeks ago!

I had a bunch of the old MGM SEs, but at that price, I figured it was time to update the collection, particularly for the set-up in AV quality for the older Connery films (my personal favorites).
I know there have been several longer threads about the UE vs SE Bond discs, but could someone post a link to a quick guide that states if any extras on the SEs were dropped on the UEs? Thanks!

Like many here I got the four volumes at CC. I think of them as collecting the first 20 films. When they make five with the new Bond maybe they'll release Volume 5. If not, no big loss.
