Ok, well, Blockbusters are going to start selling PS3s pretty soon, at least the ones that rent Blu-Ray discs, so that's where you can find this deal. It's not a huge bargain to me, but I figure if anyone's looking for an 80GB one and they have the cash they might want to know. Most stores don't have them yet, they're just arriving so call ahead I guess.
The price is 600 bucks, which gets you:
80gb Ps3 bundle with Motorstorm, which retails for 500 dollars.
Surfs Up Blu Ray (roughly 30 dollar value i guess)
PS3 remote (20 dollar value)
6 foot HDMI cables (sorry, have no clue what these are worth)
And a 20 week rental card, which gets you one free rental of either a PS3 game or a blu ray movie a week. If you actually use it, it's a pretty good value (20 game rentals at my store equals out to roughly 170 dollars, 20 blu-rays is roughly 105).
Basically, a good deal if you can take advantage of the 20 week rental card, not so much if you don't. When I heard we were getting PS3s I was hoping for the 400 dollar model plus my employee discount, but alas.
Again, just to clarify, stores are still being shipped this stuff, so not everyone has them yet, and they'll only be at stores that rent Blu Rays as well.
