Question about 4 Film Favorite Sets
I picked up the Lethal Weapon 4 film favorites collection during the deep discount sale. Does anyone know if there are there more of these sets being made in the future ? Sets like that save me shelf space in my collection. I would also like to know if there are any other 3 packs designed like the Mission Impossible set because once again, it saves shelf space. Thanks in advance.

I'm sure there will be more four film favorites (and double/triple features) on the horizon, but what Mission: Impossible set? All of the ones I've seen contain regular-size DVD cases.

Re: Question about 4 Film Favorite Sets
On a side note, is anyone else too anal like me to get a 4 Film Favorites set that doesn't feature movies in a series? ie, I wouldn't get the Stephen King set even if I wanted it, because they are four unrelated movies. The only ones I do have are the Lethal Weapon set and the Hammer Dracula set, both of which feature movies from the same series (of course, the Hammer Draculas are less of a specific series, but I still would keep them together anyway)
On another side note, why is it that they put Vegas Vacation on a comedy set, but they didn't just release a 4 Film Favorites featuring all 4 Vacation movies?

That is often a deal breaker for me too, as I have all my DVDs alphabetized, and don't want crazy order as a result from one of these packages. I only own the Lethal Weapon and Matrix collections.

Re: Question about 4 Film Favorite Sets
There's a bunch of these from Warner Brothers:
Clint Eastwood
Elvis Presley Classics
Elvis Presley Musicials
Hugh Grant
Ice Cube/Friday
Nightmare on Elm Street 1-4
Nightmare on Elm Street 5-8
Superman 1-4
Matrix
Children's Fantasy
Classic Comedy
Classic Horse Films
Draculas
Extreme Action
Family Adventures
Family Comedies
Horror
John Wayne War
Lethal Weapon
Martial Arts
New Line Family
New Line Romantic Comedy
Romance
Romantic Comedy
Stephen King
Steven Segal
Sylvester Stallaone
Thrillers
There on the first two pages of this WBSHOP.COM search.
There's also a 30+ Warner Bros triple features. Here's the search results for those.
Warner had an Essentials series for a while, but those don't save any shelf space as they are wide digipack fold-out cases. There was a excellent one that had Wizard of Oz, Goonies, and classic Willy Wonka in it, though. Three great discs.

Re: Question about 4 Film Favorite Sets
I wish more studios would start doing this, especially in such an oversaturated market where many people have simply run out of room. They're good space savers, to be sure, though the existence of four packs certainly makes double- and triple-features somewhat less attractive.
I've got a few of these "themed" four-packs (Elm Streets, Lethal Weapons, Extreme Action) and was even able to unload the single originals (the ones I had, anyways) for a fair bit more than the cost of the new sets. The big downside with most of them is that you have to take the lesser movies in any series with the better ones (and let's face it, they all have 'em): thus the Superman set, for example, may hold less appeal, but at least it's only one case wide and, for around $2.50 per movie (if you pay $10 a set), you can actually afford not to bother with the duds.
I see Universal has a few "Four-Feature Film Sets" and "Quadruple Features" as well, but they seem designed to highlight a particular performer or genre (like family films). I don't mind this, except when I see one or two movies I don't like mixed in with two or three that I do, as with the recent Van Damme collection. Getting four "true" favourites is truly a tricky prospect.
Did I see some Fox four-sets recently, or am I misremembering that?

Re: Question about 4 Film Favorite Sets
It's called the Mission: Impossible - Ultimate Missions Collection. Shelf-space wise, it's about 1 1/2 keep-case spines wide. You can get it just about anywhere.

Re: Question about 4 Film Favorite Sets
deepdiscount has them at the cheapest I've seen (overall) for $10 each. I have the draculas one and it's 2 double sided discs, which I'd assume they'd mostly be. I think it's worth it for sure but there aren't any others I'm interested in right now.
