These weekly threads are for the posting and discussion of that particular week's store exclusives and freebies.
These lists will likely be incomplete until Thursday or so, since DVDs are released on Tuesday and one of us needs to visit all the stores to confirm things.
Links to the master list and to the previous and next week's thread are below.
Volunteers needed: I regularly go to Best Buy, Circuit City, Target, and Walmart; but don't visit the other stores every week. If you work at or regularly go to the FYE/TWEC chains, Costco, Borders, K-mart/Sears, Barnes and Noble, Blockbuster, Hot Topic, or any other store that has DVD exclusives; I'd appreciate any updates you could give us.

I'm curious to see if anyone gets the Lost bonus disc since it seems Best Buy isn't doing it this year. I know there is an exclusive disc from play.com in the UK.
Edit: I just read on The Fuselage that WalMart will be having the bonus disc this time. If it is like the UK one, it will have 2 deleted scenes and three extra "on location" featurettes.
Best Buy: Exclusive 2-disc special edition for The Bourne Supremacy with 40 minutes of additional footage and collectible steelbook packaging.

Ruh-roh. Don't everyone run to WalMart at once. It's starting to look like only WalMart in Canada are getting the bonus disc. I thought this would be pretty solid info since it came from Gregg Nations, but I guess not. Sorry.

I think Best Buy is the only retailer that has a 2-disc edition for Bourne Ultimatum. Everywhere else I looked in Sunday's ads seems to be only 1-disc. The ad says the steel book packaging is exclusive as well as the bonus disc.
Circuit City however has the Bourne trilogy with a 4th disc of bonus content.

Thanks for the info...jeez $44.98. What happened to Walmarts low prices? Thats like the most expensive of all the stores. If I'm not mistaken last year at Best Buy it was $34.99 (lowest price I believe) and still had a bonus disc.
I might try what Trevor suggested and buy it and price match w/ a Circuit City ad ($34.99) to see if they'll refund the difference.

Just got back from BB and Target. Bourne Ultimatum is definitely a 2-disk exclusive to Best Buy. Picked up the steel case and extra disk while they were still available at BB. They were flying out the door pretty fast.

I went to Wal Mart tonight and stared long and hard at the Lost set with the bonus disc and decided to pass on it. 2 stunt featurettes and 2 bonus deleted scenes seems a little paltry and I didn't want to go through the hassle of trying to bring a Circuit City ad and talking an employee to price match. WM employees aren't that bright.

I must be lucky! My local Walmart store (Morrow, GA) had the Lost S3 DVDs for only $34.99. So I didn't even need to price match. I wish I would have known that before stopping by CC to pick-up one of their ads. Oh well. I'm just happy I was able to get the bonus disc. I love LOST. The length I'd go just to get the Lost bonus disc....
Since I live in one of those "Walmart-Free-Zone", I've never been there before. So to ensure I got the Circuit City price match, I found a Walmart in a nearby city that has a Circuit City right next to it. Then, I went in the CC to get the weekly ad, and go right to Walmart to price match the ridiculously expansive set from $44.98 to $34.99.
Thankfully, the Walmart cashier was a Lost fan, and she was stunned by how expansive her store was selling the damn thing.
So, in the end, it was a fairly hassle-free experience....and gosh, I almost lost my way in that Walmart, it was huge.
I don't get why Buena Vista/Walmart would try to rip-off their customers by offering the damn exclusive at that price.

I also posted in the talk section. FYI...
Stopped at my local clueless Target yesterday morning for exclusive deluxe edition. Electronics employee insisted they didn't get them in. I went to customer service to complain and ask for a raincheck, he called the desk to say they found them in backroom. I picked one up and opened it in my car to check condition and content.
It had special slipcover but no third disc. I went through the 2nd discs menu options (in-dash DVD player) to make sure Target exclusive content wasn't on a specially-authored disc. Returned to store to complain. New desk employee dug through papers to find a memo telling stores to print new UPC stickers for the Deluxe Editions, becuse once you remove the special deluxe slipcovers, the regular 2-disc version and the 2-disc + Target bonus DVD deluxe editions are indistinguishable--exact same UPC.
I had to go through a couple of them to find one with the third disc inside. Withough opening them up, I just weighed them in my hand. If you remove the cardboard slipcovers from a regular 2-disc and a 3-disc deluxe, you can feel the added weight from the 3rd disc and cardboard envelope inside the case.
So... check before you leave the store to confirm that a 3rd disc is actually inside. Simply grabbing something off the shelf with the deluxe slipcover isn't enough to guarantee you're getting what you expect.

I can verify this can work in-store as well. I was able to do it today. They have a shelf talker that says "Free Voltron T-Shirt with purchase of any Voltron set". Just look for it or ask the cashier to check with a media rep and they should take the $9.99 off manually.

If you remove the cardboard slipcovers from a regular 2-disc and a 3-disc deluxe, you can feel the added weight from the 3rd disc and cardboard envelope inside the case.
Another way to tell (I hope, since I haven't opened mine yet, although it felt *slightly* heavier): In a normal two-disc case, if you hold it horizontally and shake it gently up and down, you can hear the tray with the second disc flapping slightly. With a cardboard sleeve holding a third disc inside, the tray has no room to move.
So... check before you leave the store to confirm that a 3rd disc is actually inside. Simply grabbing something off the shelf with the deluxe slipcover isn't enough to guarantee you're getting what you expect.

Yep. I initially picked up the Jason Bourne Collection at Circuit City, thinking the bonus 4th disc was exclusive to Circuit City, but turns out it's the SAME EXACT thing that can be found down at Best Buy, Walmart, Target, and even Costco ($33.99). It's simply Circuit City's way of luring in customers.
Look elsewhere if you don't like shopping at Circuit City. The "4th bonus disc" is a default disc found in the Jason Bourne Collection.

To be fair, their ad doesn't describe the disc as exclusive, it just says "bonus disc." The ad is awfully confusing though because the "Circuit City Exclusive" logo is planted on what looks like a picture of the generic cover art from the Bourne DVD. That isn't connected or very close to the description for the complete collection, but it's also even further away from the free Napster description, which apparently is the only "exclusive" Circuit City has for Bourne. That description actually looks like it refers to Die Hard 4, although that would defy logic. This is about the worst layout I've ever seen in the weekly DVD ads.
The red and black suits alternate, and the arm in the foreground reaches out at you. It didn't come out too good in the scan.
It looks great in person. My only fault with it is it's for the one disc. I was actually surprised it wasn't foolscreen as well.

Personally I think we're seeing a trend in stores trying to trick people into thinking their basic version is exclsuive. It's actually getting really obvious and I could see the store that does actually have the exclusive taking action. Thankfully we can come to places liek this and get the scoop.
And just so it's clear one more time, The Bourne Box has a fourth bonus disc no matter where you buy it. Got mine at Costco. It's housed in the passport which makes it like it's own little release rather than just being in a envelope like I have seen in other releases.

Thanks for the advice SI78 (and of course TVJunkie).
Picked up season three from Wal-Mart for $34.98. And yes, I did look for the most disinterested clerk. She ripped out the page from the Circuit City ad and re-priced the DVD; most sway.
There are two Wal-Marts in my area; Colton and Rialto (California).
Generally one of the stores will have a DVD cheaper than the other as well as different titles in the five dollar bin. It pays to look about.
They also have different placement - DVD sets are bundled together with this security wire/net. And naturally it won't be loose on the set, it has to be as tight as possible; denting all the boxes inside the lock. I hate that. Anyhow...
I go the the Rialto shop and see S3 for $39.98. I coudn't pick it up on Tuesday, but knew I wanted it with the bonus disc. They have a bunch of copies. The Colton branch is selling it for $44.98 by the way.
A few hours ago. I went to Rialto with the Circuit City ad in had. What did I see? They changed the price. It's now $44.98. WTF? That has never happened before.

For Harry Potter, Transworld had an exclusive lithograph -- one of those cardboard frame thingies with a glossy still from the movie (looked to be either 5x7 or maybe 8x10). Looked nice, but it didn't move me enough to want to buy the movie again.
Also, Borders had a very unusual exclusive. It was the 2-disc version of the movie accompanied by an exclusive hardcover book. I don't think it was "Order of the Phoenix" itself but I don't remember it being a wholly unique book, either. I think it may have been a supplemental guide book of sorts, albeit a "Borders exclusive" edition. The most unusual aspect of this package was the fact that the book (which was wider and taller than the DVD keepcase) was packaged INSIDE the slipcover -- they actually went to the trouble of making a larger-size version of it to accommodate this exclusive! I think this edition was selling for $39.99, maybe a few dollars off during the first week. Due to its larger size and the weight of the hardcover book, most copies I came across had the slipcover fairly beaten up and none were pristine, even during the first day of sale. Anyway, just figured I'd add that to the list.
