Amazon is pretty much matching the Best Buy $8.99 sale for the week. They also have Dark Crystal, Taxi Driver, It's a Wonderful Life, Serenity, etc for $8.99 each.

Is this the steelbook version? I don't want to end up with another non steelbook version as I did with the one I ordered from Deepdiscount. They sent me the version with a slipcover. I am going to return this to them.

It's very possible that you'll get the slipcover, the steelbooks are being phased out.

I just ordered this last week from Amazon and it was not the Steelbook version. Quick switch with a Best Buy Order and I was golden.

Do they share the same UPC numbers?....

I could always check around if CC has the steelbook and try to price match for that...and then switch it with my Amazon one...I just ordered and didnt know about this...

The ones at Best Buy were slipcover, but for $8.99 I bought it anyway.

I'd actually PREFER the slipcover version.

Am I right in assuming that I can find one at Best Buy?

Preferably for $8.99?

Just came back from Best BUy. They had tons of slipcase ones.

They had separate sale section where they put bunch of Robocop and other $8.99 DVDs, but it was all slipcase. So I checked out the regular "action" section of the store and luckily for me, they had one tin edition left. Paid $8.99 and I am happy now

ah, much obliged.

Just picked one up, very much worth the extremely long wait in line.

Grabbed Dr. Strangelove 40th Anniversary (2 disc). I believe the latest version of Taxi Driver is worth it for the extras alone, even if the picture still isn't perfect they did adjust the colors to a more suitable palette. Serenity is the new collectors edition with DTS.

i got mine from best buy and the DTS audio track did not play on disc 2... so i'm gonna have to send it to get it looked at

i had heard of such problems but since i thought there was no way that the problem could have made it all the way to where i live (south texas), there wouldn't be a problem but i was wrong

I was expecting to NOT receive the steelbook, but it turns out I did Mine was shipped from Seattle, so it probably depends on which distribution center you receive it from.

Thanks to the commentors who pointed out that BB also had Robocop on sale this week. I would have entirely missed it otherwise.

Just got back from there this evening, and there was one steelbook and one slipcase left. So I scored the last steelbook

BB apparently had many titles on sale for $8.99 this week, but those shelf spaces were about 98% emptied out...

This was dropped from Columbia House a month or so ago. That's where I had planned to get mine until it was dropped.
