Is this really what television thinks of video games?
This is one of the worst representations I've ever seen of video games:
http://gamernode.com/news/5247-atten...ork/index.html
<object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/bB3ir_h3VeY&rel=1&border=0"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/bB3ir_h3VeY&rel=1&border=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>
And if you just ignore the video game aspects, just focus on the writing, acting, and overall quality of the show, it's still just as bad. Holy crap, is Life really that poor of a TV show all the time? I thought this was a horrible parody of video games in general until I realized it was an actual scene, from an actual TV show. How could anyone not only watch this show, but take it in the least bit seriously?
Meh, I'll stop right there or else I'll run the risk of this thread being moved to the TV folder.

Well, pretty much how people who've never played a video game in their lives see them.
Just like how computer users never use a mouse.

Holy shit when that girl was miming playing the game and that douche bag saw her and had his "epiphany", that was one of the most cringe inducing moments I've had in a long time.
So if someone sees me run in place will they insert me into the Olympics?

One episode of Heroes had Niki "playing" Heavenly Sword. This was long before the game came out. What she was "playing" was the E3 trailer.
Charlie's Angels had a scene with two boys playing one of the PS1 Final Fantasy games simultaneously. Final Fantasy isn't multiplayer...

I'll never forgive them for stupifying Prince of Persia 3. "You Died, Play Again?" WTF? "You win, advanced to level 2." So retarded... And the guy falls in a bit and doesn't bother rewinding time? So you live in your mom's basement, have a Captain Kirk uniform, AND you suck at video games...

I often wonder why, at some point, someone doesn't raise their hand and say "this looks stupid - why don't we just use an actual video game with the correct controllers, the right game and all that jazz?"
Of course, it wouldn't be the first thing that movies didn't portray correctly.

I wonder how much of that is due to licensing costs. Perhaps they don't want to pay to use the actual controllers and sound effects.

You all realize that this is the case for all sorts of things in television and movies right? They get stuff wrong all the time by mistake or on purpose to make something more entertaining. We just notice this because we're familiar with games.
