30 Rock - "Cougars"

Summary:

As part of his community service, Tracy must coach a little league team. All goes well until Jack takes interest in the team and turmoil starts from there. Meanwhile, Liz is asked out on a date by Jamie, the new coffee boy, who thinks Liz is actually younger than she truly is.

I realize it was on last night and these are usually started the morning of, but I just couldn't believe there wasn't a thread on this yet.

Tracy - "Hey Liz Lemon, I'm going to an animals only strip club, interested?"
Liz - "So, does that mean the animals strip or the animals are the customers?"
Tracy - "Animal customers? That's ridiculous"

"These things happen Liz. I had my no sex with asians rule but then one day you walk into Sharper Image and there's Kwan."

"Jack, have you ever been to Knuckle Beach? It's an entirely different world, one where orange soda is an acceptable substitute for breast milk!"

My local NBC affiliate bumped this until 11:30 on Sunday Night for some bullshit anniversary special.

"I'm 37. Please don't make me go to Brooklyn!"

The entire Knuckle Beach plot was inspired. "FUN TIMES ACCOMPLISHED"

It seems to me that the Knuckle Beach thing might have been a metaphor for something. But the writing was so subtle, I couldn't figure it out.

"You can't put him in the outfield! You know he won't go above 245th St.!"

I love the made-up neighborhoods of NYC. Knuckle Beach, Little Chechnya...

"I'm totally gay for Jamie"

Really funny episode.

It reminded me of the political jabs on Arrested Development: blatantly obvious but not the fulcrum of the episode or even the side story.

Tracy's line about Knuckle Beach where "Orange Soda was an acceptable substitution for breast milk" had me

I gotta go with:

"Someday I'll have an office like this. To clean."

Jamie's mom reveal.

It was an OK episode, not up to usual standards, but had enough good lines to make up for the idiotic baseball plot.

"This just went from a senior dating a freshman to Mary Kay Letourneau and Billy Philau."

"Oh, are those friends of yours?"

Wasn't the best episode, but still hilarious, nonetheless.

I'm pretty much repeating what other posters already have quoted, but my favorite lines are...

Tracy - "Hey Liz Lemon, I'm going to an animals only strip club, interested?"
Liz - "So, does that mean the animals strip or the animals are the customers?"
Tracy - "Animal customers? That's ridiculous"

"Someday I'll have an office like this. To clean." The whole bit with the kids in Jack's office was great stuff.

I also liked Liz dating the young coffee guy, but Jenna with that really young kid felt forced and wasn't funny.

Next week is a Christmas episode!

That had me rolling. That one subtle pop culture reference trumps everything Family Guy and Robot Chicken has ever done.

It also completely sums up how much sense Family Guy and Robot Chicken will make in 20 years.

My local affiliate had all the audio with the exception of the vocal track when the show started. At first I thought it was some kind of commentary on the writer's strike by 30 Rock, but I watched the full West coast feed which was normal and realized it was just some kind of odd bug the first time through.

Solid episode that had a good bunch of laughs. Grizz and DotCom on the baseball team was pretty funny.

Best show this season. I liked the sequence at the end with Frank realizing he was just "gay for Jaime" and not gay in general.

The more I think about it the more that line cracks me up. My favorite line of the night.

On a side note, what happened to Rachel Dratch? Has she been in any episodes this season at all? It's a shame that she left SNL to star in a new series, only to be demoted, and then eliminated.
