Any news on another release of Pee-wee's Playhouse?
Years ago when they were released there was word that there would be a special edition of Pee-wee's Playhouse with audio commentary, etc. I have yet to pick them up and since Amazon has them on sale for $17.99 each, I was going to get them. Any news? I don't want to double dip.

I don't know anything but I held off on buying them for that exact reason too. Maybe they weren't 100% on doing them unless sales of the current seasons were good(?) For $17.99 you may as well just buy them, or at least one season. That's a great price.

I'd kill for an ultimate Pee-wee Herman collection. Every episode of the show, the HBO special, both movies (Big Top Pee-wee is worthless to me though), a lot of extras (obviously), plus a whole disc of talk show appearances, a featurette on Reubens' arrest, network promos, commercials for the toys...the list goes on and on.
I'd also love to see, if this megaset (my idea or the complete series) is made, the 20th anniversary retrospective Entertainment Weekly printed last year. Had interviews with almost all of the principal cast (even Laurence Fishburne participated!) and it had John Singleton (a security guard on the set) and Rob Zombie (a production assistant on the show!) interviews as well.

I asked the same question here a couple years ago. Paul Ruebens was basically shooting himself in the foot when they were released, saying they'd be rereleased later with commentary. Way to boost sales! I had preordered them at the time, then promptly sold them upon release when I heard that. Then I ended up buying them again at around $18 later, when I realized it probably wasn't ever going to happen.

I emailed Image, or whoever was putting it out, about a year ago and they said it wasn't canceled yet. I picked some up when I rented them at Blockbuster since I could own it for $1 more.
