ACROSS THE UNIVERSE (2-Disk SE) 2/5/08

The Digital Bits and Amazon are listing Across the Universe for release on Feb. 5 2008, just in time for Valentines Day. The digital Bits also reports it will be a 2-disk set.

Heard a lot of positive feedback of this movie. I'll consider picking this up.

I thought this movie was entertaining. I'll probably pick it up if the extras are decent.

full specs from DVDActive:
"The film itself will be presented in 2.40:1 anamorphic widescreen, along with an English Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround track. Extras will include a commentary with Director Julie Taymor & Music Producer/Composer Elliot Goldenthal, eight extended musical performances, a deleted scene (“And I Love Her” – with Dana Fuchs and Martin Luther McCoy), five featurettes (“Creating the Universe”, “Stars of Tomorrow”, “All About the Music”, “FX on the Universe”, and “Moving Across the Universe”), and a photo gallery. A Blu-ray release will also be available for $38.96. This will include all the above (albeit with an art gallery of “Jude’s” drawings instead of the photo gallery)."

Personally, I really like that cover art.

I have yet to see the movie, but I'm rather certain this will be a blind purchase for me...

Transworld stores will have an exclusive 3 disc version of this release, not sure what is on the third disc but signage is up now to support reservations. I'll fill in more as I get the information.

Excellent film and I am definitely going to get the BR but the one cover that has been in circulation so far is absolutely the most disappointing artwork I have seen in months.

Oh man, you mean I'm going to have to buy a new release at Suncoast? I'll start applying for loans now.

OK guys...Wal-Mart will be having an exclusive for this as well. It comes with what looks to be a very nice "Movie Song Lyric Book" which is described as "Hard Cover Movie Song Lyric Book with Stunning Photography From The Film.

I am really kinda pissed about these exclusives. I would like to order this from Columbia House for a cost of around $10 or spend double that amount for this song lyric book. (or about 3 times that amount if I want the FYE bonus disk.....)

Cool, I didn't expect exclusives for this release. I wonder how long the bonus disc will be.

Spoiler:
That said, I bought it at CH.com for around $5 with the deal they have going on right now.
