2 Days In The Valley -- Paramount version -- 11/20/2007
Just purchased the Paramount version of 2 Days In The Valley. The previous release was through HBO video, non-anamorphic (2.35:1), and was issued as a snapper case. The new Paramount version get's it right, with anamorphic WS (2.35:1), I am amazed with the video quality, the new Paramount edition must have been sourced from an HD-ready master. However the DVD is totally bare, there are chapters but no chapter menu. This though is worth the upgrade for the huge improvement in video/audio over the previous release. If you cherish this film in any kind of way and own the HBO video release, this is the one you want to get. Great job Paramount did with this release!

+1 for instant upgrade.
I'm totally surprised here: I thought this movie had been forgotten, left to languish in the land of non-anamorphic DVDs.....great news!

dvd luver: here's a stupid question...are those exact captures? I'm curious because the ratio does seem different...not that there's a loss of information, but one of them is DEFINITELY distorted.

Can someone give me a quick and easy definition of "anamorphic"? Thanks.
I'll probably hang on to the HBO version I have. I've only watched it once in years. It's a movie I like, but will never get much replay.

Basically, if you have a 16x9 display, or plan on ever getting one, dump your HBO version and go for the new release.
For a better explaination go here:
