I got an e-mail from BestBuy this morning with their Doorbusters, Bonus Specials and Thanksgiving ad. Here are the links. Have a happy and safe Turkey Day.
Any idea what the "Ticket Required" part is about?

Details from Best Buy.com:
How to Shop the Friday Doorbusters Specials at Best Buy
Hoping to get in on the amazing deals at Best Buy on Friday, November 23? You'll need to get there early in the morning, way before the stores open at 5 a.m.
Here are a few things to know before you go:
Prior to opening, a line of customers will form outside the store.
Starting at 3 a.m., with the front of the line, employees will hand out tickets to customers for Doorbuster and Bonus Doorbuster products (these are the front cover and BestBuy.com limited-quantity items, excluding CDs, DVDs and video game software).
The tickets, limited to 1 ticket per customer per item, will grant you the ability to buy the Doorbuster items.
These tickets are valid for a limited time. The products requiring a ticket must be purchased, or in your hand, by 9 a.m. This is when the remaining inventory, if available, will be released to the general public.
We are unable to guarantee all customers in line will receive a ticket. See Customer Specialist for details.

"The tickets, limited to 1 ticket per customer per item..."
Sounds like 1 of each doorbuster per person?

Wow. I paid $1600 for that exact same 40" Samsung LCD back in July. Oh well, I've enjoyed it. That's a steal if you are willing to stand in line.

For DVDs, it mentions that there won't be tickets handed out.

I wish it was clearly laid out what items would be available online in that 3rd document. I know most items are in-store only, and the 1st two links above clearly state in store only, but the 3rd link with the 12 page ad does not. But I highly doubt that entire ad will be available online... I think the actual ad does say "in store only" for some items, or has a little picture showing it is available online, but you can't view it on the online ad since it is too small. Their pop-up windows give you very limited information. But they did manage to put "available only at best buy" by their 37" Dynex TV (which is very amusing, because Dynex is best buy's brand, thus obviously only available at best buy)

They said on the news that you should call stores to see how they are handling certain Black Friday Items. They said Best Buy would hand out tickets/vouchers to people at 3:00am for the doorbusters.

I'm sort of glad there aren't the PS3/Wii lines to contend with this year. I would see high school and college kids waiting in lines for many different stores (they were organized, staying in contact via text messages and cell calls) to score PS3s and Wiis and then flip them on Ebay.

If you just want the DVD's, print this: http://bordersmedia.com/coup/thanksgivingsale/movies.asp
....go to Borders on Wednesday, get the DVD's you want....eat like a pig on Thanksgiving, sleep in on Friday, then wake up, scratch your nuts and watch "Knocked Up" while everyone else fights over a $20 toaster at Best Buy.
I've went in year's past, but not this year.
Granted it's $2 more per disc, but it's a much better deal IMO.

None of the BF stuff is that great this year IMHO. I was hoping for some really decent DVD, CD or video game sales... :boring:

Ummmm you are aware that you'd have to get there long before 3AM to even have the possibility of being close enough in line to get one of the doorbuster tickets, right?
I went by my local BB last year around midnight Thursday, after I got off work, and the line was already 300-400 people deep. The 3AM thing is actually pretty good. That way they're giving you 2 hours to pack up all your line waiting gear, relax, and head in for your doorbuster at your leisure when the store opens. No fighting over TVs and computers...unless you want one that isn't a doorbuster that is...
UPDATE: I just stopped by my local Best Buy to pick up my Live Free Or Die Hard SteelBook, and the line for BF has already started. Two people were camped out. Jeez.

My wfie and I took our daughter to see "Enchanted" today since we were both off work (good family film, btw) and there were already about 10 tents going around the side of the building! Granted, this is Tampa and it's not cold, but is it worth saving some cabbage to piss in a can and miss out on a real Thanksgiving Day Dinner...you know, with football, and 2nd healpings, a whole plate of desert, etc!!!!
I'll be shopping online, and I will probably pop into Target since there's a new one not far from my house.
Anyone have any best on what people would camp out for? I honestly don't get it.

Does anybody think the Xbox will sell out quick? I would understand selling out quickly if it came with GHIII, but if it's just GHII will it be an item where people camp out for?

IE, call to see which stores will actually control the lines, and not just let it be a free for all.

A heads up. They have the wrong Labyrinth spine shown in the ad (somewhere in the $4.99 stack) so you can get the 2 disc Anniversary edition instead of the bare bones one they're trying to sell in the bins.

I'm strongly disappointed that best buy did not have their second tier of cheaper dvd titles (not 2.00 doorbusters) available for pickup in the store like they did last year. If it's too much chaos for them then they should have OTHER titles available real cheap on-line.
I wasn't able to make it to best buy today and wish I could have bought them on-line and pick at store later.

Nearly all of the DVD's that were discounted were available as of 11:30am. Place was a zoo but the lines were short. If you ever wondered what a Best Buy store would look like in Manila, go to any of the San Diego Best Buy's today.

kind of a by the way for anyone looking to buy spongebob stuff at best buy:
Just bought spongebob season 3 on deep discount for under 15 with free shipping of course. Cheaper than bestbuy.com's 50 percent off sale.

I've camped out at BB before (and I used to work there LOL) the prices for certian camcorders, cameras, even flash drives and SD cards a couple of years ago made it worth it. Now, everything has dropped so dramatically in price, when it's on regular sale it's a good price! The only thing that made me leave my nice warm bed this morning was an xbox 360 wireless headset at target (with hopes of getting gears of war) for $48 (GOF for $38). I didn't get gears but I got the last headset, along with some cheap DVDs (3rd season of freinds that I've been wanting for awhile!)...otherwise I got everything online, including my new GPS system...from Toys R Us no less!

I'm a little confused about the TV on DVD $14.99 sale. The wording in the ad says "All Seasons." However, I looked up Las Vegas seasons 2-4 on the BB web site and they are all regular price while Season 1 is $14.99. The wording appears to be really deceptive. While I was at BB earlier today, they really only had season 1 displayed. What's up with this ad?
