I stopped by my local HV and was picking up some used dvds (3 for $20 or 5 for $20). I noticed that there was a B1G1 coupon in the "movie companion" flyer in the front of the store. The sales associate said I could combine these, and that I did not need to buy 3 or 5 to get the initial discount. She claimed that she got this info from the district manager.
The coupon does say "may not be combined with other offers"- so it may not work. But it's worth a try.
