DVD Talk review of 'Waitress'

I read Preston Jones's DVD review of Waitress at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=31405 and...

This movie surprised me. It's actually one of my favorites of the year. Full of quirky dark humor, and Keri Russell is mouth-watering.

The only thing that initially turned me off was the overtly obvious wish-fulfilment ending...until I really began to think about it. My analysis now is that the final 5 minutes represent a sort of fevered Lynchian death-dream fantasy of skewed happiness and bliss.

It was a little too sitcom-ish for me in the early going, but you're right - looking at the ending that way just makes it far cooler.
