Best Assassin/Hitman(woman) Movie?

there are a couple of new assassin movies coming out with "Wanted" and "Hitman" and it got me thinking that i really love this genre when it is done right.

the last one i saw was "Mr. Brooks" and that was really not good.

my favorite has to be "The Professional" which i am sure is a lot of people's favorite.

i also really liked "Point of No Return" and it's original "La Femme Nikita" which was also done by Besson.

so i know there are more and wanted this to jog my memory.

so what is your favorite dealing with the subject?

the one's mentioned (Mr. Brooks I haven't seen it yet) are very good.

I'd also add:

Collateral
Grosse Pointe Blank
The Matador
Mr. & Mrs. Smith
The Whole Nine Yards
The Big Hit (this could probably go into the "movies you love that many people hate" thread)

I don't know if it qualifies as good, but Romeo is Bleeding deserves mention for being memorable.

Leon is probably my favorite movie of all time so I'd go with that one. Other than that, I think Collateral is the best "hitman movie"

The original La Femme Nikita remains my all time favorite spy movie, let alone assassination movie, ever.

From her indoctrination to the awesome Steyr AUG scene ("La femme un braun. LA FEMME UN BRAUN!!!"-*thump**thump*) as well as the far superior Victor to Leon. Acid on a living guy and shooting a lily livered compatriot, anyone? I love Natalie Portman as much as anyone, but Victor was better.

edit- Oh yeah. Has the distinction of the worst fucking American remake EVER! The reviled Point of No Return. ...Jesus!

A Tale of Two Jackals

One that's severely underrated:

And one that's an out-and-out classic:

I don't know how Mr. Brooks is a hitman movie. He's a serial killer. Anyway, I would say Leon and Collateral for sure.
