I have the original snapper. While I liked it better than most not nearly enough to warrant upgrading. But you never know, might down the road if the price is right.

Also a guilty pleasure of mine. I actually may upgrade for the commentary.

Plus, it would seem that the featurettes are "delightful."

The commentary is already on the current release. I think all that's new on this "deluxe edition" is the two "delightful" featurettes, the music video and the Japanese (!) audio track. I love this movie, but won't be "upgrading".

BTW, this is a Region 2 release, at least according to the back cover.

According to DVDTimes, there will be a new anamorphic transfer as well.

Couldn't you just print out a copy of the cover (from one of the numerous sites with them) and place into an amaray cover ??

I remember this as a pretty good DVD...saw the commentary as well when I was a kid, and was impressed with the extras. Don't judge me!

Upon seeing that this was announced I realized that being 20 has its consequences: I now feel quite aged that a romantic comedy was based around e-mail, let alone one based around dial-up AOL e-mail. Was I really 11 years old seeing this in theaters with my parents THAT long ago? Wow. Just wow.

I'm getting it just to get rid of the stupid snapper also because it has 2 new featurettes which should be awesome and because the transfer of the film itself is supposed to be updated in HD.

I haven't seen this movie in years and don't intend to buy this release. I have it on VHS anyway. That's how old it is for me. Plus, in today's age of people meeting over the internet and starting relationships it's not such a shocking movie. Also: AOL Dial Up? Forget that. This movie is good, but unfortunately a product of it's time.

Just think: the 10th anniversary L.A. Confidential fell by the wayside, yet this 10th anniversary edition is coming out. Hopefully the former is not too far behind.

While I wouldn't buy it, I would be glad to see this get released on HD DVD/BD, if only because it would show they're committed to releasing a wider variety of movies.

Anyone interested in YGM, should get this dvd instead - you'll be doing yourself a favor.

Wait a minute. Are you trying to tell me Nora Ephron didn't come up with that story all on her own?!?!

Geeze your ancient. I was damn near 30 when this came out. This was the second DVD I ever bought too.

It amazes me (though I'm not sure why) that people will actually go out and rebuy a movie because of the packaging. This is either the greatest country in the world, or the most perverse. Take your pick.

I have both, and enjoy both. Part of the reason I like You've Got Mail so much may be sentimental, since I met my husband in an AOL chat room.

BTW, long before You've Got Mail, The Shop Around the Corner was remade as a musical, In the Good Old Summertime, with Judy Garland and Van Johnson. I've seen it, didn't really care too much for it, personally. JMHO
