I apologize for the poorly phrased thread title. I've been watching season 2 lately, and I've noticed that there always seems to be a kind of "stuttering" effect on pan shots; it's especially noticeable on medium-speed shots. The picture will be moving smoothly, and then there's a slight hiccup or stutter on the screen, then it continues smoothly, then another stutter etc. Is this simply due to different framerates of TV shows as opposed to film? I put in a film after that and didn't seem to notice the effect on pan shots. What seems really strange to me is that I don't remember ever noticing it on Season 1 of The Wire.
