Stupid question... what is the list price? MSRP? The price on the disc? Aren't they usually the same at Borders?

MSRP is $49.99... Obviously they will release a new Rocky set that includes the most recent film but it's still a good deal for $24.99.

They should just say $24.99 on the coupon then.

Are these all bare-bones?

Yup. Just give them an email address, IIRC.

Since this release is 6 discs, I'll bet they're all bare bones (with the exception of Balboa which was 1-disc but had extras).

According to Amazon, this set is all single-disc versions of the films with no extras whatsoever. According to a customer review, the picture quality is not too great either.

This set only contains Rocky - Rocky V (Balboa is not in this set.)

Still, consider that if you can get it for $24.99, that's only $5/movie. Would you buy single-disc versions of these out of Walmart's $5 bin? If so, go for it. The only difference would be the box and the slim cases.

They are most likely putting this on sale because of the upcoming Rocky Box Set which includes Rocky Balboa.

Have we found out yet if the only difference between this set and the new one is the inclusion of Rocky Balboa? If that is the only difference, I'm all over this deal.

Edit: also, did any one else notice that although it does say 50% on the coupon, at the top of the page it says "30% Off - Borders - Books, Music and Movies"?

Cool. I already have the first one and Rocky Balboa, but I've been meaning to get the other sequels for a while now.

Thanks.

I got mine from Costco a couple of months ago for my b/f for xmas...my sister got it for her ex-b/f last year for xmas. Nothing special in them, just the DVDs, but, not horrible quality! It's a good deal either way
