Recently while playing holdem I've heard several people say they consider looking at your cards after the initial peek to be a sign of weakness. It this commonly accepted in poker circles? I very rarely need to look at my cards more than once, but have never thought any less of people who do. Especally if you play online, you end up seeing so many hands sometimes they all tend to blend together.

I don't look at it as a sign of weakness but it can definitely be a tell if you're not aware of when and how you do it. I do love it though when there's two or three cards of a suit on the flop and everybody left checks their cards.

yeah the draw checks are usually a tell. Although in our circle we use that as a joke slash trick.

a good player can easily use that "tell" to their advantage and make themselves look weak when they are strong. it all depends on who you are playing with.

I don't see double-checking as a sign of weakness but it obviously can be a tell as pointed out above.

I check my cards after every reveal, even if I'm 100% sure of what I have. I do a "1 2 3" in my head to be consistent. I'm sure I have tells, but this ain't one of them.

I've noticed that less experienced players that double check their hole cards after a significant bet will fold more times than not.
