I'm tempted to get the two Pendulum Pictures 50-packs. Are they worth 27 cents a movie? :-)

I bit on the 2 pendulum box sets. They are all low budget independant horror films, but all recently made. hoping to maybe find a couple of gems in there even though alot of bad reviews, but for some like me that is a fan of cheap campy horror, figured maybe something i might enjoy in there somewhere. at $26 shipped for 100 films I figured what the hell. I mean come on, its a quarter a movie. now, if I could just get elvira to come by and watch them with me, open invitation to the mistress of the dark!

Not to hijack the thread, but has anyone got a review of MC's new "Sci-Fi Classics: 100 Movie Pack"? Wish it were part of this sale.

That set is a combination of two of thier 50-packs: Nightmare Worlds and Sci Fi Classics. Check out reviews for those sets for details. (And if you have those, you don't need the 100 pack.)

What I want to know is - do they put their sillyass bug/watermark/logo/whatever on the screen every ten minutes, or even once? That is the dealkiller right there.

Like an idiot I went to look for the title. However we do get forced monkey sex:

"We travel to the island paradise known as Wongo, where we discover a clan of beautiful women who are pining for company. Luckily they discover a tribe of handsome men on the opposite side of the island. Unfortunately for the romantically challenged women, the island is also home to a horde of lonely ape men who are planning to forcibly take them as mates."

Barely Legal Lesbian Vampires is in the Tombs of Terror 50-pack. And here's a link to the movie itself.

Synopsis: Carmilla, the Queen of the Lesbian Vampires, shows the pleasures of girl-on-girl love to sweet young Lilith with depraved vampires of Carmilla's coven. Horror host Mr. Creepo brings back the spirit of Ed Wood to solve the problems of these demented Goth scream queens.

Honestly, I'd say no. I don't have the 50-movie pack, but I did buy some of these movies from an earlier sale (they were 6-movie packs). I like bad, cheesy movies, but these things are beyond that. Seriously, they have the feel of a bunch of friends who decided to spend a weekend making a movie.

These have bugs in the lower rt. corner, and the transfers are much worse than VHS quality. To top it off, the compression artifacts are just horrible, bitrates are less than 2 MBits per movie....

It is very sad that more effort could not have gone into mastering these...

27 cents a movie?? Absolutely a rip-off given the above facts, and that's saying a lot from a horror-fan who likes these types of film.

DON'T BE DUPED and taken in by these sorry excuses for DVD sets.

Well I have a dvd collection past 2000 and I personally have really enjoyed:
Cult Classics, the 150 Cartoon Classics, The Buccaneers, The Pirate Collection, Drive-In Movie Classics, The Horror Classics, Sci-fi Classics, Ultimate TV Westerns, One Step Beyond, Sherlock Holmes, Best of TV Detectives, Nightmare Worlds, and Western TV Classics.
Don't let other members keep you from enjoying these fun sets. It's important to remember, if they put any more effort into mastering these, they would cost more than they are worth. I believe Mill Creek has found a happy medium.

These so called 'bugs' are not on every set, and they are just the company logo showing up for a couple seconds every once in a while, no more intrusive, maybe even less, than watching some broadcast tv. Yes, I wish they weren't there, but I have accepted them to enjoy the many hours I have from the Mill Creek sets.

I, too, have to chime in for Mill Creek. The 50 Move Pack collections "Dark Crimes", "Mystery Classics and "Crime Classics" are filled with mostly-obscure 30s-40s films that are great fun to watch. I also have the "War Classics" and "Comedy Kings" 50 packs, the 20 Movie Pack collections "Burnt Rubber", "Cult Classics" and "Musicals" and several TV compilations. Don't be quick to dismiss MC...they're dependable and inexpensive.

Here's Mill Creek's page for the set. I think there are 41 episodes on the list.

http://206.191.17.254/ViewProductDet...?productid=354

I ordered this on 10/15. The email said it would be available to ship on 10/25, hope it comes before then.

As for the complaining about the picture quality and the "bugs" on the corner of the screen. When they shove 50 movies onto 12 double-sided DVDs, I don't expect Criterion Collection quality DVDs. Mill Creek makes some of the best cheap movie and TV show sets I ever seen.

I hope when the next Mill Creek sale DD has, they sell Mill Creek's 100 episode set of The Adventures Of Ozzie & Harriet that other sites are selling.
