I just pre-ordered this and would have kicked myself if i missed out on an R1 steelbook. then found out they have two choices. i would love both, but i am not that insane.
so was wondering which you all ordered?

Pre-ordered both Autobot and Decepticon Steelbooks. Also planning on getting the Best Buy exclusive gift set and Wal*Mart single disk with bonus disk. Debating on Target "transforming" case. Looks like it might be kind of cheesy. :shrug:

maybe, its for sd only, and are limited, most store are getting 6 -8 copies of each one. in many areas only preoreds will get them

FYE Steelbooks are indeed 2 disk sets. The FYE I went to today had 6 steelbooks out for sale (3 of each). They had 4 left when I checked out, could not decide which one to buy so I bought both, now that is sick.

I didn't have a choice when I went to FYE this morning: all of the Decepticon SBs were reserved through preorders, so I had to settle for the Autobot SB (not sure I want to keep it; I may return it. I'm actually happier with the Target exclusive). It was $24.99 at my location.

I felt like a huge dork since it wasn't that big of a dent, but I couldn't justify living with a dent since I paid more for the special case.

checked em out, they were $24.99 at FYE and were 2 disc. I had already bought the bestbuy deluxe set, now Im looking at the target and thinking of returning the bestbuy set. I skipped on the steelbooks, my only intention was to get them to later sell them on ebay assuming they become OOP and collectors items, but I can think of better investments to make $10-20 on a $27 purchase after a few months or more or who knows maybe even take a loss.

Got my Autobot one this morning when they opened. They had a few extra Decepticon ones on the shelf, but the rest were behind the counter.
My Steelbook did have a loose disc, but luckly no scratches at all. I did notice something odd though. There was a small piece of dirt in the Steelbook when I opened it. It was in the lower left corner and it was brown. So it was dirt, and not just some dust. I just brushed it off and went on about my day, but I'm wondering about it now.
What the heck was it and should I be concerned about it? Seriously I'm a little OCD about things and this is bothering me. Its probably just some dirt or something from when they packaged them, but how in the world did it happen? I thought the DVD plants were supposed to be pretty clean, etc...

picked up both my autobot and decepticon steelbooks today. gotta say, they're awesome. way cooler than i expected them to be based on the pictures. i thought they'd have a more matted feel like the fox r1 steelbooks, but was pleasantly surprised to see the glossy, embossed cover.
my store had only enough to cover pre-orders, held behind the counter for people picking up. no extras to be found, but this was at around 5ish after work. they might've had some available in the morning.

and i rechecked the futureshop ones, and i was wrong, they are 2-disc... the only prob. with futureshop is u cant orfer them to the U.S. cause they're in Canada...

looks like they have BOTH. tin AND steelbook. AND the transforming case. lucky. they get all the exclusives from one store. easy shopping for aussies.
a steelbook with logos on both sides seems odd to me though. i feel like the back SHOULD be empty or with info and not another cover-type pic. so while it would've been cheaper to get that steelbook, i'm happy with my two individual transworld steelbooks.
i tried to pre-order and they said they didn't have any left, but i called on Tues and they had them in.
got my self the autobot one. the decepticon logo looked a like it was elongated too much where it should have been more of a square (if that makes sense)
