Crank 2: Yes..they are making a sequel.

http://www.empireonline.com/news/story.asp?NID=21206

"Crank 2 will pick up exactly where Crank one ends," says Taylor. "It's a true sequel. Jason Statham will return. It's not a prequel, it's not his brother, it's not a dream sequence. He will [scrape himself off the floor]".

...

"It’s going to be more sexual, more violent – more of everything," laughs Taylor. "We realise with a movie like Crank, you can’t do a sequel and do 60% or 70% of what the original was. You have to go twice as hard. So that’s what we’re going to do. If we’re going to live up to the first one with the sequel – we’re taking it WAY past the point of the first one".
So there's only one thing to do. Bust out the hard drugs and alcohol and get ready for some totally over the top pure grade A comedy cause seriously, they are just going to go from him splattered on the ground to getting up and brushing it off.

Completely awesome.

I just want to see how they'll top the scene with him and Amy Smart in Chinatown.

The only redeeming scene in the whole film.

I wonder if I can sit thru all of the second instead of shutting it off like I did the first one? I doubt it.

So we're supposed to believe that...

Spoiler:
he fell out of a helicopter and came crashing down at full speed on top of a car, bounced off it and hit the hard asphalt pavement... and survived... and is in a condition that would allow him to run around in a sequel instead of being paralyzed and/or in a coma

God bless Hollywood and the people who give them a reason to release this stuff.

Well, maybe…

Spoiler:
Michael Clarke Duncan will reprise his role as John Coffey from The Green Mile & at the beginning of Crank 2, he’ll walk towards Chev (Jason Statham) & breathe some of his ‘Miracle dust’ into him & he’ll walk away all fine & dandy.

Loved Crank but I don't think this is really necessary, let alone to have Statham return.

It would make more sense if it's a prequel.

It would make more sense if they made Transporter 3.

Come on, it's a sequel to Crank. Asking for it to make sense takes most of the fun out of it.

It's an easy fix. One line of dialogue, 'Thank God we created the, you know, whatever device.'

My thoughts exactly. My only question is who will he be after this time? He got revenge against everyone of significance in the first movie.

Maybe it'll be about him trying to save himself. That crap is still in his system.

Wooo hooo! I'll be there opening weekend for this.

I am hoping he wakes up as a cyborg at the beginning. Imagine the crazy antics that would arise with him being half robot!!! Especially if he made Six Million Dollar Man noises...

Making sense and Crank are two things that don't go together. I'll tell you what does go together.

Drinking a shit load of beer/hard liquor and watching Crank (2). Now that's a winning combination.

I enjoyed the hell out of the first one, and actually kind of liked how it ended. However, I'm not going to worry about any attempt at logic with this movie, and just enjoy it for the strangeness that it is. Comedy and action do well together, especially with Statham fucking things up.
