DVD Talk review of 'From Beyond'
I read Ian Jane's DVD review of From Beyond at http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/read.php?ID=30480 and...
I'd call this one of the best DVDs of the year. Solid review, Ian!

I was really happy to see MGM put some effort into this disc. The extras were great, the quality was great, and the movie holds up incredibly well.
I forgot how much I love this movie until revisiting it on the new disc.

The Burning cover is much worse. Although, I don’t dislike it as much as some people do.

but the cover is an early unreleased one sheet artwork:
From Beyond - Soundtrack
which I think is cool, shame they altered that's one-sheet's design to the current DVD's
as for the commentary track I listened to yesterday, it really didn't really impress me, too chummy for me - Jeffrey's banter/humour was grating and lame imo.

Didn't realize the cover was a modification of an old one sheet. Still like the original movie poster the best but since they used the one sheet, they should have retained the "retro" style and ditched the awful digital modification.

This is absolutely one of the best discs of the year. That transfer looked amazing on my tv. MGM really did a helluva job putting together the DVD. Some great extras, good audio and a pristine transfer make this one a must-buy for any horror fan.

Got to agree with Killer,
The transfer on this is stunning. It looks like the film was made yesterday! I actually think it is a better film than Re-Animator.
I can't say the same for the extras though. Pretty lousy overall.
