"The Kingdom" was a much better film --- better than I had anticipated, because I haven't been a big Peter Berg fan up until now.

Nothing special about this weekend. I am slightly happy that The Game Plan was #1 because The Kingdom's advertisements were going way overboard.
That and any movie about the Middle East that has nothing to do with our current events is just plain retarded if you ask me.

I think it can be a plus to take things out of the real world and not attempt for a true to life depiction.

Funny that Berg and The Rock did a movie together and are now competing at the box office... unfortunately the performance of The Game Plan means we'll get at least another one of these 'big tough guy becomes a babysitter/dad' movies from disney (perhaps starring Jason Statham)... after the turd that was 'The Pacifier' and the horrible trailer for 'TGP' I'm surprised people still went...it just shows that families will go see anything.
Would people please get their asses to the theatre to see The Kingdom!

Nothing really interesting this week, don’t go too the theatres anyway but I don’t think I’ll ever have The Game Plan, in my DVD collection.
I’m slightly glad that The Game Plan beat The Kingdom at the Box Office. I might buy The Kingdom when it’s on DVD but it looks kind of dull (for my tastes) & I’ve never been that much of a Berg fan either.
I’m getting kind of sick of those pretentious, bland looks, non-engaging films. What I mean by Bland looks is the colors in the film; it's so dull & boring.

I agree about the Kingdom's ads, when I am told that the last 30 minutes are so riviting etc... does nothing to make me want to see it. AND it makes me think that up until the last 30 minutes I really don't need to see.
That said I do want to see the Kingdom but will wait for DVD.

I'm with you Goldberg. It's pretty good for that type of movie, because The Rock brings a lot more panache to a role like that than Vin Diesel or most guys ever will. We saw it with a couple of other families and I'd say The Rock made the movie for the adults.
