Blade Runner 5 disc HD-DVD and Blu-Ray at amazon

I don't know if anyone posted this yet or not but they are only $27.95 right now. This seems like an amazing price.

Blu-Ray:
HTML Code:
http://www.amazon.com/Runner-Five-Disc-Complete-Collectors-Blu-ray/dp/B000UBMWG4/ref=pd_bbs_sr_4/103-0162141-9240603?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1190957600&sr=8-4
HD-DVD:
HTML Code:
http://www.amazon.com/Blade-Runner-Five-Disc-Complete-Collectors/dp/B000UBMZ4S/ref=pd_bbs_7/103-0162141-9240603?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1190957600&sr=8-7
And the Suitcase for both HD-DVD and Blu-Ray is $69.95

This seems like a pretty amazing deal for the regular 5-disc editions.

It is a slightly better deal ($22.46) at the Warner Bros. store with the 25% discount if you get enough other stuff for free shipping.

I have the ultimate edition pre-ordered from them, but until they get their shipping issues resolved I wouldn't place an order with them.

No 5-Disc Collection StandardDefinition without the briefcase ??

Am I the only one upset that there is no Standard Definition DVD set of the "5-disc set" without the briefcase ??

I haven't purchased any Blu-ray discs or any HD-DVD discs ... because I know that once I do, the other format will win the format wars, and my purchase will become obsolete.

But, I really want the 5-disc set , and I don't want all of the toys that come in the briefcase.

Buy the case. Ebay the discs and toys. Everyone's a happy camper.

Hey everyone...

I just received this e-mail from Amazon this morning...looks like the release date has changed...at least for the Blu-Ray set:

"We're writing about the order you placed on August 01 2007 08:59 PDT
(Order# xxx-xxxxxxx-xxxxxxx). Unfortunately, the release date for the
item(s) listed below has
changed, and we need to provide you with a new delivery estimate based
on the new release date:

Harrison Ford (Actor), et al "Blade Runner (Five-Disc Complete
Collector's Edition) [Blu-ray]" [Blu-ray]
Estimated arrival date: 12/21/2007 - 12/24/2007"

Just a heads-up...

They are checking to see if you will have an emotional response to a lie about your order.

Enter RNFS on WB's website when you checkout. I think it still works, but haven't checked since my last order which was a few weeks ago.

I just checked. It still works.

My shipping date changed from 12-18 to 12-20. I'm surprised they even bothered to email about such a small difference.

Do you have to order anything in particular because I just tried and it said I didn't qualify. Weird!

Do any of you guys think that the Suitcase regular DVD edition will be collectible enough to buy a second copy? I haven't heard if it will be in limited supply or if they'll be a dime a dozen.
With the Kubrick Collection coming up and my wish list growing ever larger, I'd like to start saving up now.

If it's anything like the matrix limited with the neo statuette it'll be on clearance at some point. But there is a chance it could be limited. But I'd bet WB would just print up more. As limited doesnt mean that much unless you know how many were initially produced and it has a numbered certificate.

Yeah, it probably won't be a situation like the Best Buy exclusives (300, The Departed, Anchorman, etc). They might just produce more.

Would Scott be willing to sign that many more autographs? I figured since the suitcase contains an authentic autograph it would have been limited to ammount signed.

I highly doubt the letter is hand-signed. Like previously done signed letters in box sets, I expect it will simply be a printed replica of his signature. For example, WB's limited edition Buffy the Vampire Slayer series collection box set had a small cardboard note with printed signature. That "limited" edition was also available for quite some time.
