So is this officially the last season? I'm FINALLY all caught up so I'm hoping this season will kick it up a notch. The whole Lana/Lex married/pregnancy BS last season was a major downer. My question is will Annette O'Toole still be in the opening credits since they pretty much wrote her off the show last season?

The producers are hoping for a season eight, which will probably depend on the ratings. Hopefully they know by mid-season, so if they have to wrap things up, we can get a decent conclusion to the series.

I'm still hoping for some cameos by Annette, so hopefully she's still in the opening credits.

Not sure, but it is Michael Rosenbaum's (unless something has changed) last season.

As am I.
Spoiler:
It would have been a refreshing change to the show if Lana would not be around for awhile. If I was writing the show, I wouldn't have her show back up until the middle of next season. By then, Clark and Lois are already dating, and Clark realizes that he can live without Lana, and it was just a childhood love. Hence, we still get the classic Lana Lang that chases after Clark. Instead, we'll get Clana part 34874, and Clark will ignore Jor-El and his destiny even more. Yippee.

I think I read a few months ago in TV Guide that Annette O'Toole will not be a series regular this season.

I can see this getting at least 1 more season to wrap things up and have Clark graduate to the Super tights and cape.

Tonight's premiere just flew by, I was shocked when Clark punched Biz into outer space and there was only one segment left.

This show is so melodramatic, but it's so much fun to watch. There was a little too much self-loathing by Clark, but otherwise a good start to this season, and we'll have to see if Supergirl's addition has a positive impact to the show.

They must have blew the special effect budget for 2-3 episodes for the opening segment at the dam and surrounding areas. Did they use a stunt butt for Lois?

Actually I found it to be pretty good as far as openers go. In the past, the finale/premier combo has usually been the great exception to the preceeding season. However, last year I enjoyed the season moreso than the finale. I found that this premier was more in line/tone with S6 as a whole. Call me surprised and pleased!

Luck that a good episode = fewer characters throughout the ep? It was basically Clark/Lex/Chloe.

Next week looks good too - if this season can maintain the momentum and quality of last year I'd be okay with it being the end. Although a few TV movies after the fact wouldn't hurt anybody.

It'll be interesting to see how Lex will develop this this season. It wasn't the first time he had a second lease on life in which he then was determined to make changes, good or bad.

I'm wondering if there is going to be more of Bizarro later on. His whole back story was explained in a couple sentences and seemed like a typical plot device for Clark's conscience and making life's choices.

so what was the song at the end?

It wasn't perfect and the usual melodramatics were painful to sit through, but the action, supergirl, lex meeting bizarro-clark, martian manhunter, etc were all great.

Bizarro-Clark and Lois. Cute.

It was a song by Kelly Clarkson (off her current album), probably named "Sober".

Very good season premiere, IMO. I liked that they used part of comic Bizarro in BizClarko by having kryptonite be his strength, and sunlight be his weakness. And thanks to BizClarko, it looks like kryptonite will become rare, following in line with the comics.

This season really looks to be mythos-heavy, but who knows if Clana will be shoved down our throats instead of Clark embracing his destiny.

Solid and satisfying opener, happy to have it back!

(The Smallville Medical Center has to be the busiest health care facility this side of Krypton!)

Clark's known since 'Perry' in season 3, but it's hardly ever mentioned on the show.

I was scared for about 30 min, until they brought Chloe back.

It is now to kick some butt for the rest of the season.

GO Smallville/Superman.

Great start to the season. Although I was annoyed by the "24" like disregard for time. Chloe is in the hospital bed in one minute then 5 minutes later she's in the morgue? The shit goes down at the dam, and victims are at the hospital, lickety-split.
