I like Smits so I'm checking this one out. It actually got a B- in Entertainment Weekly. This will probably appeal more to soap opera fans and the Latino market.

I think CBS is re-airng the episode later this week. Enjoyable show, the characters were interesting, good actors. I'm willing to give it some time.

I’m a Tim Horton’s Coffee drinking, Loves the Winter, Hates the Summer, Hockey Playing, Lovin’ Canadian, which doesn’t fit the demographic CBS is looking for with Cane, and I enjoyed it.
Smits is good in just about anything & he doesn’t disappoint as the lead for Cane either. Pretty interesting characters, good storylines & some pretty solid acting from the rest of the cast as well & I think Alex & his father better watch out or Frank is going to put them on ‘the island’.
The “Pilot” episode wasn’t outstanding or anything but it left me wanting to know what happens next. I’ll definitely be tuning for more.
I have a feeling that Cane might get cancelled due to it up against Law & Order: SVU. CBS is a real bitch when it comes to ratings & if a show doesn’t get great ratings, it’s usually cancelled within three episodes & doesn’t give a show, much of a chance to find an audience.

Haven't watched it yet, but I was surprised it did well in the ratings.

Hmmmm, I have it recorded, but I don't think it is my kind of show. I'm not a fan of Dallas, Knot's Landing, etc. etc. and I get the feel that that is the appeal.

It's not surprising this did well since the Latino market is HUGELY underrepresented on network TV. I'd imagine this thing is critic proof.
I think this was the most dancing I've ever seen on a drama series.

Hmm, a lot of people were predicting this would be the first show canceled this season. I guess some people are going to have to revise their earlier predictions.
I thought this was OK. There seemed to be a lot going on, but it was a pilot after all. The show has a really solid cast so I'll see where it goes from here, although the season previews didn't leave me too optimistic.
And with all of these killings and all, I keep feeling like this show is supposed to be about another kind of cane.

Looks like they are replaying it on Saturday 9/29 @ 9:00 pm.
That's what I was thinking, it was kind of cliche. I didn't expect to like this at all, but it wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be.
I didn't realize it was going to be so violent. The women all looked hot in HD.
And speaking of dance. 'Now from my night club...'

Finally watching this. I don't think I'll be back. I can't seem to get into the characters and storylines and the show seems to be dragging on (always a bad sign when I am surprised that I am only 20 minutes in and it seems like it should be over.)
Is it wrong I giggle like a 12-year old every time they say "Du-que"?

I liked the pilot. As some of you have said, it's a Dallas or Dynasty type of show with Latin characters however I found it enjoyable. It doesn't hurt that they have some nice eye candy like Paola Turbay (a former Miss Colombia), Polly Walker, Alona Tal and Lina Esco in this show.

Finally watched it. I was expecting to give up on it within the first 20 minutes or so but I was oddly entertained.
I think it was a good but not great episode with the potential for substantial character growth over time. I'm willing to give it a few weeks to see where it goes.

There was definitely a Godfather type of feeling, especially when he ordered the execution. I thought that it was okay. I'll probably keep PVRing it and watch it when I get a chance.

I just watched this last night and I really enjoyed it. Smits is really good as the lead character and there is a solid supporting cast. I like it that Alex (Smits) is suppose to be the loving father and husband and respected businessman, but also has a sinister side. I enjoy the fact the lead character is more of an anti-hero. It's definitely more of a soap opera, but it's enough to keep me interested.
